Headed to Aulani!! What do you want to know???

Aloha cousins!  In a few short weeks, Agent Heather (that's me!) will be headed West to Hawaii to visit Disney's Aulani Resort and Spa.  I have the distinct pleasure to be the first of the Kingdom Konsultant team to experience the resort in paradise first hand.  It's a tough job, but I am willing to take on the task!

Aulani opened just under a year ago on August 29, 2011.  It is located on the southwest side of Oahu in Ko Olina.  Sitting on 21 acres with a private lagoon, Aulani has 359 hotel rooms and 481 villas.  In the center of the resort, guests can explore Waikolohe Valley, an 8,200 square foot zero-entry pool that features a volcano with tube rides and water slides, a 950 foot lazy river, a children's water play area, and a saltwater snorkeling reef.  Down at the lagoon, there are plenty of water activities to keep you busy!  There are paddleboards, snorkel sets, kayaks, boogie boards, and even sand toys available (some free to guests and some for a rental fee).  Feel like just relaxing?  Consider renting a Casabella - a premium 2-seat lounge chair by the crystal clear water.

This is truly a family resort with something for all the family to do!  Kids ages 3-12 are welcome to enjoy some fun at Aunty's Beach House, the state-of-the-art kids club that will immerse them in all sorts of Hawaiian fun.  Tweens and Teens will enjoy a variety of games and activities in the Pau Hana Room Community Hall, or special spa offerings just right for them at the only teen spa in Hawaii, Painted Sky.

Even parents deserve a little pampering on vacation!  While the kids are busy, parents can indulge at the 18,000 square foot Laniwai Spa - complete with a 5,000 square foot outdoor hydrotherapy garden.  Can we all say "Ahhhhhh" together???  If you are looking for some sporty fun, there is the nationally ranked Ko Olina Golf Club just near Aulani (kids golf free after 3!).

Of course, there are plenty of places to eat.  Four restaurants and multiple quick service locations will not leave you hungry.  And above all, this is a Disney resort!  There is a character breakfast at the Makihiki restaurant (we'll be attending this one definitely!), and characters will be around for greetings, poolside parties, and lots more fun!

There are excursions aplenty to experience - from tours to hikes to bikes to horses to dolphins, there is something for every taste.  Aulani also offers many experiences on property, some for a fee and some free.  One we are looking forward to is the Starlit Hui, a nighttime show and story time.  Stories and legends are a big part of the Hawaiian culture, and we're looking forward to indulging in and learning about it!

I'm going to get back to packing, and daydreaming of the paradise that awaits!  But before I go, I have one question for you:  What do you most want to hear more about at Aulani?  Please leave a comment with what you want to learn more about, and I promise I will do my best to experience it for you to report back (like I said, tough job, but I am up to the challenge!!)
