Walt Disney Resort hotels will soon be introducing a new refillable mug program called 'Rapid Fill.'
Using RFID technology embedded into mugs, Rapid Fill will allow guests to select a time-frame for their mugs to be active to receive beverage refills. At the end of the purchased period, the mug will deactivate itself. The new mugs will be able to be used at any resort hotel quick service fountain, regardless of where it was original purchased.

Unlike the existing refillable mug program where pricing is fixed for a length of stay, the new Rapid Fill will use a tiered pricing structure. Pricing is listed below (days are counted as a calendar day, and not a 24 hour period).

$8.99 for 1 day
$11.99 for 2 days
$14.99 for 3 days
$17.99 for length of stay

As with the current refillable mug program, it will be included in some Disney Dining Plan benefits. Past mugs will not be able to be reused, and a new mug will need to be purchased for each resort stay. Fountains will include an LCD display to indicate the number of remaining refill days.

The rollout will begin in July 2013 at Disney's All Star Resort, and will expand to all other locations.

Construction walls are now up next to Characters in Flight and Paradiso 37 at Downtown Disney to begin work on a new temporary bridge.

The walkway bridge along the lake shoreline will be used to bypass Pleasure Island for foot traffic to allow Disney Springs construction work on the Island.

Parking Lot H is now closed at Downtown Disney as part of the construction process for Disney Springs.
Lot H is the large parking lot in front of Planet Hollywood and work will soon begin on the changes that will bring a new transportation hub area to the future Disney Springs.

Cap'n Jack's Restaurant at Downtown Disney Marketplace looks set to permanently close on or around 8/12/2013.

The Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be closing for a lengthy refurbishment beginning in September. The closure begins on 9/3/2013, and runs through until November 19, with a reopening on 11/20/2013.

Disney has today been alerting travel agents that some in-room refrigerators at both the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort have been disabled due to a possible issue. That “issue” has not been disclosed. Impacted rooms will have the refrigerator unplugged with a letter to the guest also attached. Disney expects to replace all the affected refrigerators, but warn that the process could take several months to complete as there are over 20,000 of these refrigerators in WDW alone. Guests with priority refrigerator needs (eg. Medical) will be accommodated wherever possible.  Reports are that the suites at Art of Animation, the Cabins at Ft Wilderness and the 1,2 and 3 bedroom villas at the DVC resorts are NOT affected by this recall.

House of Blues Brunch

Brunch is probably my favorite meal to go out for, and Disney Springs has some hidden gems in the brunch department. House of Blues offers weekend brunch with one of the best deals on property, bottomless mimosas!  If you’re up for it, House of Blues offers a laid back atmosphere with live music for brunch. It is available Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm, with the full menu available after 12pm. We were sat in the back room where we couldn’t see the stage but could hear it and it was a great vibe!  Bottomless mimosas and coffee were the popular choice for beverages, but they also offer a variety of brunch cocktails and other options. Bottomless mimosa! We were a party of 8 and hungry, so we started with an order of nachos from the lunch menu and they were a HUGE portion, so glad we had a lot of people to share them with.  BBQ Nachos - Four cheese sauce, avocado, roasted corn salsa, pickled red onion, tomato, Memphis BBQ sauce, cilantro crema, cotija cheese. Carthay Circle Review

The Kingdom Konsultant team had the pleasure of being invited to the Disneyland Resort for agent training recently, and the first night the whole group was there, we went to Carthay Circle for dinner. The restaurant is a model of the famed Carthay Circle Theater, where Snow White debuted in 1937. The restaurant is elegant and beautiful, but not pretentious. They are used to people in theme park attire. We had trouble securing a reservation for 18, but we were able to get 3 smaller reservations and the restaurant was accommodating to seat us at tables next to each other. We had beautiful tables on the balcony overlooking Disney California Adventure and a dazzling sunset.  Some of us ordered entrees, some ordered appetizers but mostly we ordered a lot of things to share! Every table tried the Warm Cheddar Parker House Rolls, which were served with Calabrian Chili-Pine Nut Romesco Butter. These were delicious , and the butter was the real star.  Warm Cheddar Parker House Rolls & Calab

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes

Black Tap Burgers & Shakes is located at the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort.  It is a fast-casual restaurant, meaning you order your items at the counter, but then they bring it to the table for you.  They have a selection of burgers, wings, salads and chicken and a fun milkshake menu.  If you just want a shake, there's also a walkup window outside, but some special creations can only be ordered for dine-in. We placed our order at the counter and noticed all the tables inside were full. We found a table outside and hung out while we waited for our food to come. They have a full bar and craft beers on tap, but I was surprised to get wine in a can. Strawberry Shortcake Shake We had hoped to have this Crazy Shake for dessert, but it actually came before any of our food. The Strawberry Shortcake is described as a vanilla frosted rim with crumbled cake topped with a strawberry shortcake ice cream bar, pink & white twisty pop, whipped cream, strawberry drizzle
