Enjoy the Beauty of Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

Welcome to Coronado Springs Resort!
Bienvenidos!!!!  Welcome to Coronado Springs!!!

Although this is a Moderate resort, there are many highlights at this resort that separate it from the others in this category. Coronado Springs is a beautiful resort. The attention to detail shines through in the wonderful landscaping and perfectly themed villages. With a fun pool, great dining options, and amenities to fill your business needs, this is a perfect choice for families, couples, and business travelers.

Queen Beds with simple and elegant bedding
The rooms at Coronado Springs are just a touch more upscale than the usual rooms you might find at a moderate.  This was the first moderate to upgrade to two Queen sized beds from double beds; they are fitted with a very simple white duvet cover, and a turquoise and gray bed runner. King Bed rooms are also available to book as a separate room category.  All of the Moderates have a privacy curtain by the vanity area outside of the bathroom; however, at this resort, the curtain is replaced by two full length wood doors that slide side to side on the archway leading to the vanity area.

Sliding wood doors provide privacy in the vanity area

The table and chairs normally found in a Moderate room are replaced with a work desk, complete with convenient outlets on top for all of your electronic equipment.  Two small leather ottomans are provided for additional seating.  Business guests wanting additional amenities have the option to book a “business class room”, which has access to the Coconino Cove lounge. Here they will find a continental breakfast, snacks and beverages throughout the day including a coffee maker that does espresso and lattes!! Wine beer and sangria are also served here. Bath robes are provided in the business class rooms for use at the pool or in the room.  These rooms are usually reserved for business clients, but when there is availability, they are offered to us regular vacationers!

Fountain in El Centro, the main building
Dining options: I think Coronado Springs goes a step above in providing different dining choices to suit a variety of palates and clientele.  There is Café Rix for a quick grab-and- go, offering everything from salads, wraps, snacks, baked goods and gelato to a grill area where your food is prepared to order.  The Pepper Market is a great food court type of option, and does have some unique selections for breakfast and dinner to accommodate a more adventurous palate.  The Maya Grill serves dinner in the Mexican themed restaurant located in the Main Building.  The food here is wonderful, as is the warm and personable service.  I personally recommend the fajitas along with a glass of sangria.  According to the menu it is Grandma’s recipe and it is fabulous!

Fountains in the Casitas
Coronado Springs is also home to a convention center, but don’t let that put you off staying here.  It is anything but stuffy or uptight.  There is a full lounge bar area in between the Pepper Market and Café Rix, called Rix’s Lounge.  The lighting here is pretty low, and the bar area and decorations are meant to encourage conversation in small groups.  It is a great place for a nightcap after a day of fun in the sun.  There are also two more bars- one right outside along the Lago Dorado promenade, and the other by the main pool area. Because of the convention center, a business center is available for guests, providing certain business services such as faxing, computer use, shipping, etc.

The Dig Site
The main pool at Coronado Springs is magnificent.  The centerpiece of this area, called the Dig Site, is a huge Mayan pyramid that has water flowing down the steps and into the main pool area.  There is the Jaguar slide on the side of the pool as well as a smaller water play area for the little ones.  There is also a playground, a video game arcade, a volley ball court and of course, my personal favorite, a 22 person hot tub overlooking the pyramid.  This is a great way to ease those sore muscles from walking in the parks and relax for a bit.  In addition to the main pool are there are three other quiet pools in the villages around the resort.

Casitas Courtyard at night
The resort is broken up into three village areas: Cabanas, Ranchos and Casitas.  Each one has its own special appeal.  The Ranchos section does tend to be the quietest, as it is furthest from the main building. Casitas are closer to the main building but can be far from the main pool area.  Cabanas tend to be in between the two. The interior amenities of the room are the same in all three areas, except for the business class rooms.   I tend to request Casitas or Cabanas for my room area.  The four bus stops are located around the resort and are not a terribly far walk from any village grouping.

The resort, by design, is a bit warmer. While the landscaping is lush and full of many beautiful flowers, there are not many trees or shaded areas located around the resort.  This is to evoke the feeling of the Southwestern United States and Mexico.  The various fountains, hammocks and beach areas around the resort are lovely and fit the theme of the resort perfectly!!

So the next time your travels bring you to Disney, you might want to stay with this magnificent resort, and enjoy the sun sinking below the horizon as the lighting of the resort shines into the beautiful night sky.  Swim in the Dig Site pool area at night under the stars, grab a drink, and take a walk around Lago Dorado as it reflects the lights of the resort in its waters.  Special memories are made here!!!

  1. It looks lovely, but I'd like to see the rest of the room - the desk area + the bathroom area with the doors open.

Photo Tour and Deck Plan: Disney Fantasy

The Disney Fantasy took its maiden voyage in 2012 and until 2022, was the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. It's the sister ship to the Disney Dream so you'll see many similarities between the two ships. The Disney Fantasy is an absolutely gorgeous ship, boasting an Art Nouveau style. The ship has 14 decks, 1,250 staterooms, is 1,115 feet in length and weighs 130,000 gross tons. We'll tour the ship starting from Deck 1 up to Deck 14, going from Aft to Forward. Let's start our photo tour! Deck 1 Deck 1 is where you'll find the Health Center. It's also where you can exit the ship to board a tender at Ports of Call that require ships to anchor offshore.  Deck 2 Deck 2 is where you'll find one of the three main dining rooms, Enchanted Garden.  The restaurant transforms throughout dinner, changing from day to night I love these booths! You can also find staterooms, a Midship Detective Agency kiosk and the Vista Gallery showcasing Disney artwork.  Deck

Universal's Volcano Bay Private Cabana Review

On a recent training in Universal Orlando Resort, agents Maci, Ashley, Aubrey and Yaritza and I rented a private cabana for the day at Universal's Volcano Bay. There are multiple locations around the park along with the option to have an upper or lower level, all of which reflect in various pricing. Agent Ashley received an email the day before informing her of where to check-in the next morning. While we were personally escorted to the cabana shortly after check in, the line at the check in location is the same as those getting towels, meaning it was not short. As expressed by an additional guest checking into a different cabana, we would have greatly appreciated a separate line, since this caused our group about a half hour wait. We're all adults and made great use of our time getting some fun pictures before the park was filled with guests, but this is important to be aware of if you are traveling with children.  We had an upper level Cabana which came with a splendid view!

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th
