Liberty Tree Tavern Review

Ode to Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake .... how we will miss thee....
Sigh, yes... it's true, Liberty Tree Tavern will be undergoing a lengthy refurb from July 6, 2015 to November 20, 2015. Reservations are presently being accepted up until July 5, 2015, for lunch as well as dinner. For all of you visiting Disney World's Magic Kingdom during July 4th, I highly recommend making an Advanced Dining Reservation for lunch or dinner. What better place to celebrate America's Independence?!?!
Located in Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square, Liberty Tree Tavern offers an ala carte menu for lunch, as well as an All-you-care-to-enjoy Thanksgiving Feast for Dinner, served family style. The much-loved Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is only offered on the lunch menu.

Our lunch began with  nice cold sodas

Barq's rootbeer, free refills!

Our appetizers consisted of:

Tavern Fried Cheese-

"Fried Cheese with Marinara Sauce"

I do love fried mozzarella and these are really good... crispy, not oily at all. I have to agree with most, the cheese curds that used to be served along with the fried mozzarella, are definitely missed!

Today's Kettle Soup

"Chicken noodle soup"

Will you look at the size of that bowl?!?! This could have been a meal in itself! This was VERY good, huge pieces of chicken, pasta, carrots and veggies. Side note: Today's Soup Kettle offers different soups, and there is no set *schedule* when beef barley or chicken noodle soup is served, but... you can always ask your server if they have chicken noodle if beef barley is offered. Hey, doesn't hurt to ask!

Our entrees started with:

Pilgrim's Feast

"Traditional Roast turkey served with herb bread stuffing, mashed potatoes and a garden vegetable"

I LOVE this! The turkey is moist, not dry at all, and the green beans, are the best I've ever had! This is also served with gravy, but you can ask your server to serve it on the side, or have it omitted, if you aren't a gravy fan.

Angus Chuck Cheeseburger

"Angus Chuck Cheeseburger topped with your choice of bacon and cheddar or mushrooms and provolone, served with fresh fruit or tavern fries"

Tavern fries please and bring on the bacon!! This is one of my husband's favorite burgers on Disney property. He ordered his well done, and said the burger was still juicy. Tavern fries complete this burger as a meal fit for a hungry General!

You would think, after all this food, we would have been too full for dessert. Not us!!! We persevered!

Martha Washington's Cake

"A slice of rich chocolate cake layered with a liberating chocolate coffee icing"

Rich is an understatement! YUM! For all of you chocolate cake lovers, THIS is for you! Ever have chocolate icing or filling and its almost *gritty* from too much sugar? Not here... not at all. Paired with a large glass of cold milk, you will declare this your favorite part of the meal!

Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake

"Vanilla Cake with a Gooey Toffee Filling, Caramel Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream"

Yes, that's chocolate sauce drizzled on there too. Oh my Stars and Stripes is this heavenly! Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake ranks right up there with Dole Whips and Tonga Toast, as far as favorite Disney foods go. Big enough to share, but trust me, you'll be yelling "mine, mine, mine" as soon as your server places this on your table.

I cannot stress enough, how terrific Liberty Tree Tavern is for lunch as well as for dinner. I strongly suggest making Advanced Dining Reservations, as it books up fast, and with a lengthy refurb on the horizon, reservations may be hard to come by. Let's all wish upon a star, that Liberty Tree Tavern's menu doesn't change too much when it is scheduled to reopen November 21, 2015.

Location: Magic Kingdom Liberty Square
Lunch:    11:30am - 3:00pm
Dinner:    4:00pm - 8:00pm

The 6 mile long Disney Skyliner opens at the end of the month in Walt Disney World, and we are now starting to hear confirmation of some of the operational details.

As expected, lightning will be addressed by the Skyliner system closing when lightning is forecast. The system does feature lightning protection, but Disney will obviously be keeping guests out of the sky during bad weather. Bus service will be available during weather closure of the Skyliner.

Disney Skyliner is able to carry 10 guests per cabin, and guests may also travel with strollers, wheelchairs and service animals.

There are five stations in total covering the 3 lines - at Caribbean Beach, Pop Century/Art of Animation, Disney Riviera Resort, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot International Gateway. Caribbean Beach is the main gateway and you will transfer there to each destination.

Although Disney Riviera Resort doesn…

A crane is now in position behind Cinderella Castle to begin the installation of the Castle Dreamlights for the Frozen Holiday Wish show.

During the work, the walkway alongside the castle is restricted, and the crane may be visible from Main Street U.S.A.

The crane will most likely be visible until shortly before the first Christmas party on November 8.

For the first time in many years, Disney's Animal Kingdom will be hosting a New Year's Eve party on December 31, 2019.

Disney Villains After Hours Event

This summer, the Kingdom Konsultant Agents took on a full day of training followed by a late night Magic Kingdom adventure at the Disney Villains After Hours Event.  The night promised low crowds, special effects on attractions, specialty food items available for purchase, a unique stage show and PhotoPass opportunities, and Maleficent at night. In addition, there were complimentary soda, bottled water, popcorn and ice cream novelties with our event admission! We couldn't wait to see what we could accomplish! Pro tip: you won't be able to accomplish it all in one night, there is just too much to see and do!

Walking in to Main Street was a little hectic with the day guests leaving and the party guests arriving.  We almost missed the guide map but managed to double back to grab some so that we could all make a plan! You notice right away a different feel to the park with little hints of the villains all around.

The two main attractions with overlays were Pirates of the Caribbean…
