 Ears the News Brought to you by our friends at WDWMagic.com Reopening Date set for Disney's Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World Good news!  Disney's Polynesian Resort will reopen to guests on July 19, 2021.  Disney refurbished guest rooms and the Great Ceremonial House. The resort will be opening, however, the new monorail station will not be completed yet.  The front-desk will reopen in the Great Ceremonial House and 'Ohana will reopen on July 9, 2021.  Ears the News Brought to you by our friends at WDWMagic.com Disney's Animal Kingdom breeding programs welcomes a third giraffe birth at the park in the past year Disney's Animal Kingdom welcomed Masai giraffe calf born on June 10, 2021.  this is the third giraffe born at Disney's Animal Kingdom in the past year.  The calf weighed 183 pounds and stood six feet tall.  The calf is yet to be named.  Mom, Lily, is enjoying her new calf. The calf has a distinct butterfly marking on the right shoulder, heart-shaped spot on his coat, and a white-tipped speckled mane.  They will be spend time behind the scenes before joining the giraffe herd on the savanna in the next coming weeks. Giraffes are a vulnerable species in the wild.  Within the past 30 years, the population has declined over 30  percent.  Ears the News Brought to you by our friends at WDWMagic.com Disney unveils its first Walt Disney World 50th anniversary commercial Photo courtesy of WDWMagic.com Disney unveiled its first commercial for the upcoming 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World beginning October 1, 2021.   Disney CEO Bob Chapek comments on capacity increases at Disney World Disney's CEO, Bob Chapek, spoke about increasing capacity at Walt Disney World.  According to the interview, we can expect to see "low double digit increases".   We should see changes around September.  He also mentions that the parks are still adhering to OSHA guidelines that adds some complexity to the process of scaling back restrictions.   There is also an opportunity to reconsider legacy processes and offering, including ticket pricing and annual pass sales.  Photo courtesy of WDWMagic.com Disneyland Resort to allow guests from outside of California and expands the park reservation booking window Effective June 15, 2021,

Ears the News: February 20, 2021 Edition

 Ears the News Brought to you by our friends at WDWMagic.com 'Raya and the Last Dragon' offerings coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom Disney's Animal Kingdom will host a couple of new experiences based on the movie, "Raya and the Last Dragon."  You will be able to learn to draw new characters from the movie at the Animation Experience at Conservation Station.   Artists also will be working on a 40-ton sand sculpture at the Discovery Island Stage.  The display will feature Raya, Tuk Tuk, Sisu the last dragon and the Ongi.  It will take over 24 hours to build and carve the display that is made entirely from sand.  This sculpture will be made by two talented artists.  Between February 19 through 21, guests will have the opportunity to watch these artists at work.  The carving will be showcased at Disney's Animal Kingdom through the end of March.
