Nassau Review: Blue Lagoon vs. Junkanoo Beach

Wondering what to do when your Bahamian cruise stops in Nassau? Have other cruisers told you to stay on the ship? I recently went on a 3-night cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas that stopped in Nassau. I tried the two most popular recommended activities: visiting the free Junkanoo Public Beach and the Blue Lagoon Island excursion.  On my first cruise to Nassau, I stayed onboard the ship. Once I started venturing out and doing excursions, I realized I was missing out on so many beautiful places and memorable experiences. My favorite excursion to date was with Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas! You can read about that here . On this recent cruise, I decided to try the Blue Lagoon Island Deluxe Beach Break. This was a beautiful island paradise. It was a short 30 minute boat ride from the pier, with views of Atlantis and celebrity homes along the way. We saw mansions belonging to Oprah, Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan, to name a few. On the other side we saw local fishermen

Liberty of the Seas - Royal Caribbean Cruise Line

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line has an entire fleet of ships with varying features and sizes.  Liberty of the Seas is a Freedom Class ship, which puts it in the middle range at a size that can appeal to many cruisers.  There is a variety of fun activities from water slides to live entertainment, but the ship isn't too large so it still feels very manageable. The ship debuted in 2007 and updated in 2016 and has 15 decks with a capacity of just over 3,600 passengers. Since the ship didn't get "amplified" in 2020 due to the pandemic, it is also one of the more cost effective options to choose!   While the ship doesn't have some of the newest updates to come to Royal Caribbean, we never felt wanting for more and found the ship to still be in great shape and offered plenty to do for our 7 night sailing.  We've sailed on Symphony previously shortly after her debut, so we did have experience with some of the larger and newer ship features before embarking on this sailing

Top 10 Must Do's at Epcot

On October 1, 1982, Epcot opened as the second park in Walt Disney World. The park spans over 300 acres and has four distinct areas: World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature and World Showcase. World Celebration, World Discovery and World Nature feature attractions that embrace a global community, technological innovations, and our incredible planet. World Showcase is home to pavilions representing 11 countries: Canada, United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Japan, the United States, Italy, Germany, China, Norway and Mexico. Epcot is an acronym for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.  Although Walt Disney's original concept for Epcot didn't come to life, the park embraces his idea of ingenuity and imagination.  The park offers a unique experience of being educational and entertaining.  It's a hard task to accomplish but I think Disney does it well!  Here's my list of the top ten Must Do's at Epcot.  10. Mardi Gras 2023 Review

The Mardi Gras season at Universal Orlando Resort is a hidden gem in my opinion.  I love the festive atmosphere, international food booths and high quality entertainment.  This is not a separately ticketed event, so you just get to show up and enjoy! For the basic overview of Universal Orlando Resort's Mardi Gras 2023 Celebration, click here .  We spent a long weekend in February visiting the Universal Orlando Resort, and our main goal was to enjoy Mardi Gras. We used the food booths for several meals, saw the parade and caught a concert.  First, everything is colorful and lively across Universal Studios Florida, this is definitely the hub of the event although it has trickled out into other areas of the destination.    I’m all about the food so we were excited to “taste the flavors of Carnaval” and have some old favorites and try some new things. What we did find challenging though was actually finding the booths we wanted to try. We couldn’t find any sort of ma
