Disney Cruise Tips for a First-Timer

I knew our first Disney Cruise would be awesome, but didn't expect to be so completely impressed with every aspect of the cruise. From the magnificent cuisine, to the Broadway-style shows, to the amazing customer service, Disney is truly unbeatable when it comes to family cruising. There are many, many cruise planning sites, blogs, and tips out there to sift through, (which I did my due diligence reading in preparation for my own trip) including the wonderful articles here on the Kingdom Konsultant Blog. But, actually experiencing it, taught me so much more. Here are the things I wish I knew, but didn't on my first Disney Cruise: Arrival Day Advice If you want to pay with Disney Gift Cards or Disney Visa Rewards, first thing you should do onboard is go to guest services to put them on file for charges if you didn't already add your credit card to your stateroom when you completed your online check-in. Oh! and make sure you know your pin #!   Traveling with small chi

RCCL: Wines Around the World

On a ship as large as Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas, there is no shortage of things to do.  In fact, you likely won't be able to do it all in one trip!  One of our favorite ways to take a break from the hustle and bustle of some of the busier activities on the ship is to do a beverage tasting class.  We did Wines Around the World and had a great time!  This activity does come with a fee and should be scheduled in advance. The class was held in a small section of the main dining room, so it was really nice to get to see the area without the crowds of dinnertime.  The tables were set with wine glasses, information and snacks.  We had several agents and guests doing this experience together, and we were able to sit at one large table all together.  We were guided through the wine tasting and had a great time learning and tasting new varieties of wine!   Wine varieties can vary by ship and region, so you can repeat this experience on several cruises and get a different exp

Top 5 Disney Cruise Activities for Adults

If you've ever brought up a Disney Cruise to those who aren't in the know, I bet you've heard the all too familiar phrase "Aren't there kids everywhere?!" So today I wanted to share with you my top five reasons why I love Disney Cruising WITHOUT kids!  I've personally taken three Disney Cruises and have my fourth one coming up, but none of these trips include kiddos.  People look at me like I'm a bit nuts when I tell them this, since they equate the cruise line with fun loving children everywhere.  (Don't get me wrong, DCL is absolutely fantastic for kids too!) But they truly have something for everyone.  All the photos in this post are from my recent cruise on the Disney Magic (Mediterranean itinerary) but you should be able to find something similar on any of the ships in Disney's fleet! 5. See a Show Disney Cruise Line has some of the best entertainment in the industry with their Broadway-caliber performances and fantastic on-board ent

Disney Cruise Line Onboard Activities

Whenever I tell people that I am going on a Disney Cruise, I always get asked the same question; “What is there to do on a Disney Cruise?” A better question to ask would be “What isn’t there to do on a Disney Cruise!” Before my first Disney Cruise, I was worried that I may get bored and that there wouldn’t be enough activities to keep me entertained. Boy, was I wrong! Disney Cruise Line offers an enormous array of onboard activities for the entire family to enjoy. Pirate Night There are pools, youth activities, and nightclubs to name a few. How do you know what activities are happening when, you ask? Well, you find out by looking at your handy dandy Personal Navigator! You can access the Personal Navigator through the Disney Cruise Line app or get paper copies from Guest Services. Every day on your cruise, the Personal Navigator is jam packed with onboard activities from morning until night. There are so many activities available that it is impossible for me to list ea

Disney Cruise Line Mixology 101

Recently I had the pleasure of doing a Disney cruise aboard the Dream with some of our clients and their families, as well as some of my agents. We host a yearly Family Cruise and one of the things that we did was a Mixology class. If you are going on one of Disney’s cruises, especially if you have a nice group with you, it can be a lot of fun! Let me explain what it is for those of you that haven’t had the pleasure of doing one.  Mixology is for adults 21 and over. You have a maximum of 30 people in each class which is given at one of the lounges onboard.  In 2015, you had a minimum of 15 in a class, but they have since upped that to a maximum of 30 per class with a 25 person minimum. The cost? $20 per person which gets charged to your stateroom. We were set up in the Skyline Lounge which is located on Deck 4, aft, in the District area of the ship. If you are not familiar with it, the lounge has an upscale look about it with wood paneled walls and ceilings showing off its cla

Guest Review: Star Wars Day at Sea with Disney Cruise Line

Kingdom Konsultant client London had an unforgettable Disney Cruise Line experience that she was excited to share with our readers. The Disney Fantasy's Star Wars Day at Sea happened on 8 different sailings, with a one-day ship takeover by all things Star Wars , including characters, games, movies and music! Read her review of this "out of this galaxy" experience: Wookie hug! Star Wars Day at Sea aboard the Disney Fantasy cruise ship was truly one of the best vacations I have ever experienced. For a single day during our seven day vacation, it was a treat to experience Star Wars on the ship. Galaxy-in-a-glass cocktail! There were many Star Wars activities such as: · Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple  - learn the ways of the Force as young Padawans battle Lord Vader on stage! · Padawan Mind Challenge  - young kids and their families can test their Star Wars knowledge in a trivia show. · Galactic Dance Party  - kids can danc

One of the most common questions that I get from clients regarding Disney Cruises is “What kind of activities are there onboard to keep my kids occupied”? My answer- more than you can imagine! Disney Cruise Line has a wide array of kid and family friendly activities that appeal to all ages.  Here is my top 10 list of activities not to miss while sailing: 10. Poolside Games and Dance Parties Following the mandatory safety drill on embarkation day, head to Donald or Goofy’s Pool (depending on your ship) for the super fun sail away dance party!  This Jammin party is just the beginning of the various activities poolside led by the awesome activity staff.  Every day you will find games, contests, dance offs galore listed in your Navigator.  Be sure to catch them when you can and act like a kid again! 9.
