Mythos Restaurant at Universal's Islands of Adventure

Located on The Lost Continent of Universal's Islands of Adventure, Mythos is an award-winning, full-service restaurant that offers an otherworldly experience. If you've ever been to Universal's Islands of Adventure, you've undoubtedly walked by this restaurant with its towering rock formations, waterfalls and ancient figures carved into the side of the building. The restaurant has been calling to me for years and I was finally able to give it a try. When you enter the restaurant, it feels like you've entered a cavernous grotto from another world. There are oceanic and mythical touches throughout the indoor dining room and there's also outdoor seating with great views of the park. View from our table The menu features a mix of Mediterranean, Asian and American cuisine including Spanakopita Dip, Pad Thai and a Bacon Cheeseburger. There's also a kids menu for little ones and a dessert menu featuring Chocolate Banana Gooey Cake.  On our first visit to Mythos, we

You Must Be This Tall to Ride... Universal Orlando Resort Edition

Universal Orlando Resort has branded itself as the more grown-up vacation destination in central Florida. With advertising campaigns like "kids grow up, so do vacations" and "grow bolder", it should be no surprise that there are many attractions at the Universal Theme Parks with height requirements.  If you're visiting the Universal Orlando Theme Parks with little ones, it's very important to familiarize yourself with the ride height requirements so you know which attractions your little ones can, and can't ride, based on their height. You'll find these helpful signs with height requirements for all of the attractions when you enter the Universal Orlando Theme Parks. Universal Studios Florida 34 inches - E.T. Adventure 40 inches - Despicable Me Minion Mayhem 40 inches - Fast & Furious - Supercharged 40 inches - Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon 40 inches - The Simpsons Ride 40 inches - TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D 42 inches - Harry Potter

Universal Orlando Resort: More Than Just Thrills!

I have discovered over the years that many people think Universal Orlando Resort theme parks are just for guests who love thrill rides.   While it is true these parks have some amazing thrill rides (I’m looking at you, Velocicoaster!), there are plenty of rides to please anyone in your party that prefer more tame attractions. Recently I took my own family down to experience everything Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure have to offer.   My son is just venturing into the world of roller coasters, but still has some growing to do.   My daughter is still a bit cautious when it comes to rides.   They both declared that they LOVE Universal Orlando Resort and can’t wait to return!   In no particular order, here are our favorite non-coaster rides that are sure to please everyone in your group.  Despicable Me Minion Mayhem :   In this awesome simulator ride you get turned into a minion! Margo, Edith, and Agnes oversee your minion training, but things get a little out of ha

The Three Broomsticks

The Three Broomsticks is an iconic location for any Harry Potter fan, but is also a delicious lunch spot for anyone visiting Universal Orlando Resort!  The food is familiar yet unique, and served hot and fresh to your table. This location is located in the Hogsmeade location of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal's Islands of Adventure. What sets this apart from other quick service locations for me is that you order your food and then taken to a table and the food is brought to you, which is becoming more and more popular these days, but definitely wasn't the norm when the Three Broomsticks first opened.  We placed our order and then were led to a table in the dining area which looks like a scene right out of a Harry Potter movie of course.  For lunch today we ordered a Spareribs Platter, normally served with corn on the cob and roasted potatoes but we subbed veggies for the potatoes, and Fish and Chips along with some Pumpkin Juice as a beverage.  First let's

Photo Tour: Universal's Islands of Adventure with Social Distancing

Have you been wondering what it's like to visit the theme parks since the reopening of Universal's Islands of Adventure? Today we'll take you on a photo tour through the park to see what's changed. You'll notice one of the first changes to park touring before you even enter the theme park. We arrived at the Port of Entry turnstiles about 20 minutes before park opening and we saw social distancing in full effect. Universal Team Members were there to remind guests to remain socially distant and to help direct the flow of traffic as the lines grew. We were very pleased to see that the majority of guests were doing their best to adhere to the new guidelines and were also wearing their masks properly. Guests socially distancing in line to enter the park Another big change: Park maps are unavailable and guests are encouraged to download the Official Universal Orlando Resort App You'll find one of the three U-Rest locations at the Port of Entry Landing. This U-Rest are
