Bring a Little Disney Magic to Your Holiday Season

The holiday season is one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World.  The weather is usually cooler and there are fewer crowds earlier in the season, but more importantly, the resorts and parks are decked out in their finest Christmas decorations.  I don’t always get the chance to visit the parks to see the decorations each holiday season but I have managed to bring a little bit of that Disney Christmas magic to my own home every year.  Here are a few ways you can bring the Disney magic home this holiday season!

Decorate Your Tree with Disney Ornaments
As a kid, my favorite ornaments on our tree were always the Disney ones so it is only logical that as an adult with my own Christmas tree to decorate, that I would have a tree entirely dedicated to Disney ornaments!  On each trip to Walt Disney World, I pick up a few new ornaments to add to my tree.  They are wonderful souvenirs and it’s a great way to remember our different trips!  I also frequent Disneystore.com each season for special deals on their cute ornaments.

Make DIY Mickey Ornaments
Another great way to bring some Disney magic to your Christmas season is to make your own Mickey ornaments to add to the tree!  A few years ago, I created some Mickey ornaments using 3 Styrofoam balls, sequins, pins, hot glue and ribbon.  It’s a super easy, yet slightly time consuming task, but they enable you to create your own ornaments for a fraction of the price.  It can also be a fun family activity to get into the holiday spirit.  I am sure Pinterest has some other DIY Disney ornament ideas that are worth trying!

Watch Disney Christmas Movies
Nothing helps get me in the Christmas spirit more than watching a good Christmas movie!  A Christmas Carol is a classic story that I love watching every year.  Two of my favorite versions are Mickey’s Christmas Carol and The Muppets Christmas Carol.  If you love watching as many Christmas movies as possible, don't forget to watch Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas starting on December 1st.  They have a jam-packed schedule every year with some great choices!  For Disney+ subscribers, you can search their Happy Holidays collection for even more Christmas movie marathons.

Wrap Presents with Disney Wrapping Paper
I love finding new Disney wrapping paper each year.  I found this super cute wrapping paper a few years ago at Target!  I'm always on the lookout for ways to incorporate Disney into my Christmas presents and this is a great way to do so without getting everyone a Disney themed gift.

Make Mickey Shaped Cookies
Is it just me or does Mickey shaped food just taste better?  I make sugar cookies every year and always have such a great time decorating them.  My favorite cookies are the Mickey shaped ones that I make to look like Christmas ornaments.

Watch the Disney Parks Holiday Specials on ABC
Finally, you can watch The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular on Hulu or Disney+ and on Christmas Day you can watch the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade on your local ABC station.  Get a chance to see Disneyland and Walt Disney World in all their Christmas glory, along with special performances by musical guests. It’s the perfect way to put a finishing touch of Disney magic to any Christmas season!
