Making the Most of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

If you have ever done any research about a trip to Walt Disney World in the Fall, I am sure that you have heard of a little something called "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party." What is MNSSHP, you ask? Well, it is a special, hard ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom, occurring a couple of times per week, on designated dates.

2025 Event Dates

August – 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26 and 29
September – 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28 and 30
October – 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30 and 31

Party will take place from 7:00 PM to midnight.

Ticket Prices
Event tickets are $119 to $229 per ticket, plus tax (prices vary by event date).

Discounts
Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party—valid only for select event nights in August and September.

The party admission is NOT included on a regular Magic Kingdom ticket. In fact, if you are visiting the Magic Kingdom on a night that the Halloween Party is scheduled to take place, be prepared that if you do not have tickets to the party, you will be escorted out of the park, promptly at 7pm. Wristbands are given out to clearly identify paying party guests.  The party runs from 7pm-midnight.

The rides and attractions are open for you to enjoy, with minimal waits, but let's start off with what's unique about the party and then I will give you a couple of tips to help you plan.

The Halloween party has ALL sorts of special things happening that you will not get to see during regular park hours. The first thing you'll notice is that there's not only cool Halloween decorations all over Main Street, but there are special lighting effects, spooky background sounds and music, and more.

What’s New in 2025:
  • Meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse together at Town Square Theater
  • Rediscover Storybook Circus—transformed into a happy haunt for families with younger children
  • Dance party inspired by the film ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires
  • Plus, popular party experiences will return!

You'll be given a free Halloween goody bag to fill up, as you Trick-or-Treat your way around the park!  over the park you will find glowing orange globes, marking the Treat Stations where you can line up and collect your candy. The Cast Members are generally pretty generous too, especially as it gets later in the night. You can easily fill up the small treat bag they give you, and then some. In fact, feel free to bring a larger bag with you.

Allergy-Friendly Fun
If you have a food allergy, please see a Cast Member to pick up a teal-colored treat bag. When you trick-or-treat with your teal bag, you’ll receive a teal token at our treat stations. Later on, you can redeem these teal tokens at our Allergy-Friendly Centers for special treats!

Costumes
You are welcome to get all done up in your Halloween finest, whether you're an adult or child, and whether you want to do it low key, and wear a Halloween t-shirt and Mouse Ears. Costumes that surround the entire body might be subject to additional security screening. You will see anything and everything in the park that night. Keep in mind that you may want to board ride vehicles in your costume, so make it something easy to move in and sit in. For obvious reasons, costumes should not include weapons, sharp objects or be offensive and should not include most masks. (Keep it "Disney" Kids!) Additionally, if your costume is so lifelike you are mistaken for Cinderella, Disney asks that you do not pose for pictures or sign autographs. You can check out the costume guidelines, using the "official" Disney website.

There are tons of characters out during Not So Scary, including some rare ones, like Jack Skellington and Sally. Plus, you'll see Mickey, Minnie and pals in their Halloween costumes! There are some super fun photo opportunities, Magic Shots and meet and greets! Some of the unique characters of past years have included:
  • Moana
  • Jack Skellington and Sally
  • Mickey and Friends in Halloween Costumes
  • All Seven Dwarves
  • Pooh and Friends in Halloween Costumes
  • Lotso
  • Jafar
There are also opportunities to have "magic shots" taken by Photo Pass photographers, where magical things are added into your picture. For example, in front of the Haunted Mansion, you can pose for a photo, and ghosts will be magically added to your shot. These pictures make super fun souvenirs!

Oh, and there's Halloween entertainment all over! The Dapper Dans become the Cadaver Dans

Oh, and there's special Halloween merchandise items sold exclusively at the party, like pins, t-shirts, plush and more.

Not convinced yet? Well I've saved the very best for last! Exclusively at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, you will get to enjoy one of the best EVER Disney parades, "Mickey's Boo To You Halloween Parade." The parade runs twice nightly, and starts off with the traditional running of the Headless Horseman on his mighty steed. You'll get to see fantastic floats and unique characters and scenes. It's a fantastic parade!

There's also a special Halloween version of the fireworks! Gather ‘round as your host—Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas—delights with a not so scary-tale that proves anything can happen at Halloween!

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
Join a wickedly fun stage show hosted by the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus.Look for appearances from Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie and Maleficent. This show takes place at Cinderella Castle Stage—only during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Find showtimes in the My Disney Experience app.

The party is truly a remarkable and memorable night and totally worth going to, even if you are traveling with all adults!

Now, let's get into how to make the most out of your not-so-spooky night!

1. Your Not So Scary ticket will grant you entrance to the park as of 4pm, even though the Halloween festivities don't begin until 7pm. In the hours before the party starts, get in some rides and attractions. That way you can use more of your party hours to enjoy the actual themed events.

2. Knock out the most popular character meet and greets early on, as lines get HUGE! And only do them if you feel like you absolutely MUST see them! There have been waits of up to three hours to see Jack and Sally.

3. In whatever downtime you have between happenings, visit the dance party, grab some cute pics, and try a Halloween snack or two.

4. Do some trick-or-treating as you go, but hold off on the majority of it until the end of the night. I say this partially because you won't have to carry a heavy candy bag around all night this way, and partially because I personally found the Cast Members' candy-giving hands to get heavier as the night wore on, thus filling your bag quicker at the end of the night.

5. Use the time during the first parade to hit up the attractions and meet and greets that you haven't gotten to, but are still high on your priority list. You'll find lines much shorter, because the first parade is always the busier of the two, therefore, a good number of guests will be occupied during it, freeing up space elsewhere in the park.

6. Make sure you are in front of the Castle for the fireworks, since most of them are designed to incorporate effects on the castle too. Then, when it's time for the second parade, make your way to Frontierland, which you will likely find far less crowded than on Main Street. Enjoy Boo to You from there, and then, right before the party is over, trick-or-treat! This is also a great time to check character wait times if some of the lines were longer earlier in the night.

7.  If you can, stay until the very end of the night.  Just know that unlike when the Magic Kingdom normally closes, Main Street does NOT stay open beyond the party hours, so make sure you have already done your shopping and grabbed your snacks.

The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian: Studios of Big Pine Key

I didn't think Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa could get any grander, but then I stayed in one of their Resort Studio rooms. These are the newest rooms at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The Resort Studio rooms are located in the Big Pine Key building which is very close to the main building. The location makes it very convenient to get to the dining options and transportation. Not only is the building close to the main building but it's also across from the Courtyard Pool and Courtyard Pool Bar. Resort Studio rooms are located in the Big Pine Key building When you enter Big Pine Key, you're greeted with a simply lovely lobby. The furniture is super cute and gives off a very cozy, chic vibe. There's lots of pastel colors with floral prints and touches of nature. Universal's Volcano Bay Private Cabana Review

On a recent training in Universal Orlando Resort, the agents rented a private cabana for the day at Universal's Volcano Bay. There are multiple locations around the park along with the option to have an upper or lower level, all of which reflect in various pricing. We received an email the day before informing her of where to check-in the next morning. While we were personally escorted to the cabana shortly after check in, the line at the check in location is the same as those getting towels, meaning it was not short. As expressed by an additional guest checking into a different cabana, we would have greatly appreciated a separate line, since this caused our group about a half hour wait. We're all adults and made great use of our time getting some fun pictures before the park was filled with guests, but this is important to be aware of if you are traveling with children.  We had an upper level Cabana which came with a splendid view! We arrived to a welcome basket of various fr...

Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug...
