Throwback Thursday: Satu'li Canteen - Forgotten Favorites

While Satu'li Canteen is one of my favorite Quick Service restaurants at Walt Disney World, the menu has changed in the short few years it has been open and some of my favorites have been removed.  I wanted to share a look back at some of the opening year menu items and reminisce together.   There were two main types of entrees on the menu here, the pods and the bowls, that much hasn't changed.  But some of the specifics of these items have.   First up, there used to be two different flavor of pods you could get - cheeseburger and vegetarian.  While Disney's cheeseburger flavored things have been a long-time fan favorite, those vegetarian pods were my personal favorite!  I wonder if they will ever make a comeback, I'd absolutely go back for them. Throwback Thursday: Bon Voyage Breakfast

Once upon a time Disney’s newest character breakfast at Walt Disney World was the “Bon Voyage” Character breakfast at Trattoria al Forno at Disney’s Boardwalk.   You got not only a fabulous sit down meal, but you were able to meet and interact with a couple of Disney princesses, Ariel and Rapunzel, and also their rarely-seen mates, Eric and Flynn Ryder.   All four of these Disney characters are my oldest daughter’s favorites, so she was beside herself thinking that she could finally meet all of them at once when this debuted.   I was able to get my family a reservation so we could enjoy this meal and fulfill our princess dreams. When we first arrived at Trattoria, it was packed, so that was a good sign to me that this was going to be a great experience.   Once we were finally seated, our waitress greeted us, took our drink orders and told us how the characters would come by one at a time.   It wasn’t long before we had our first visitor, Rapunzel.   She was so pleasant and very sweet,

Throwback Thursday: Chef Mickey's Family Style

Let's take a look back at 2021 when Chef Mickey's reopened as family-style dining before returning to the full buffet experience... Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort has been a long-time popular favorite for its proximity to the Magic Kingdom and the ability to see Mickey and Friends while dining.  However, it hadn't been one of my personal favorites because I felt the quality of food on the buffet had been lacking in recent years.  Since it reopened as a family-style meal and we were able to get a last minute reservation on our recent trip, we decided it was time to give it another chance.  Long story short, I'm so glad we gave this restaurant another try and I hope it stays family-style for a while because everything was really fantastic! Okay now let's get into the details.  We were able to secure a same-day reservation for two on a Thursday night earlier that day.  We had no park plans or anything so some cha
