Roundup Rodeo BBQ

Run like the wind, Bullseye, over to the newest restaurant in these parts, Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

As you walk up to the entrance, you would think it’s been here the whole time. All of the outdoor theming with Woody, Jessie & all their friends just blend right into Toy Story Land that’s been here since 2018. The check-in podium is outside, just around the corner from the entrance to Toy Story Land, and there is a small waiting area under the marquee sign. You can check-in at the podium or through the My Disney Experience app. When you are called in to Andy’s Toybox to join all of the other “grown up toys,” you are amazed at all of the drawings and cut outs of Woody, Jessie, Stinky Pete, Bullseye & Bo Peep. Even some of Bonnie’s friends like Buttercup and Trixie made it into Andy’s place to play. You are greeted by Jessie & Trixie in the first room and Bo Peep and her Sheep in the second room.

Remember that once you are in the restaurant, you are now an honorary toy. You will hear overhead announcements such as “Andy is entering his room—everyone get ready...” and everyone in the restaurant freezes. You just never know what will happen!

Once you are seated, you order drinks such as assorted Coca Cola products, Lemonade and Iced Tea. If you want “grown up drinks,” you can order some beer, wine or a specialty drink such as a Snake Eye Margarita, Whinnyin’ Whiskey Lemonade or a Grown-up’s Peanut Butter & Jelly.

After the drinks are delivered, they bring you some of Prospector’s Homemade Cheddar Biscuits with Homemade Sweet Pepper Jelly along with three different salads: Rootin’ Tootin Tomato Salad, Rex’s Romaine & Kale Salad and Wheezy’s Watermelon Salad (Plant based) YUM!
We loved all of these salads. I want to add that the watermelon salad is labeled “fresh mint,” but I didn’t taste the mint and I cannot stand mint so I was glad I couldn’t taste it. The restaurant is all you care to enjoy so if you run out of something, you can ask your server to bring out more.

Next up is telling your “grown up toy” if you want the House-Smoked Platter which includes Evil Dr. Smoked Ribs, Buttercup's Beef Brisket, There’s a Sausage in my Boot - Fire-grilled Pork Sausage and BBQ Chicken - with Style or Trixie's Plant-based Trio which includes Combat Cauliflower with Harissa Drizzle and Walnut Gremolata, Scrumptious Bratwurst and Rip Roarin’ Rib Chop. I do wish we had ordered one of each to try it all, but we only ordered the House-Smoked Platter.
Then, it’s time to choose your sides. You get four sides for your table which includes Mean Old Potato Salad (Homestyle Red-skinned Potatoes), The Married Spuds (Loaded Potato Barrels), Veggie Slaw (Plant-based), Force Field Fried Pickles, Campfire-roasted Vegetables (Plant-based), Slinky Doooooooooog's Mac & Cheese, Buckin’ Baked Beans (Plant-based) or Cowpoke Corn on the Cob. Tip: If you finish a side, you can order a different side than one of the original items you selected. I absolutely loved the Fried Dill Pickles, but how do you not love anything fried?! I wasn’t impressed by the baked beans, but maybe it was because it wasn’t near as good as the other sides to me. They had more of a tomato flavor, if that helps with your decision. We also thought the chicken tasted a little dry. I’ve heard you can ask for Salmon so I would love to do that next time.
For desserts, you can choose from one of their options: Bo’s Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake, Billy’s Chocolate Silk Pie, Goat’s Apple Pie, Gruff’s Peach-Strawberry Pie or Cupcake a La Forky. Our server really must’ve liked us because she brought us all five! I am a huge chocolate fan, but there was nothing special to me with the chocolate pie. The other options were DELICIOUS! I even asked her if they had the cupcake on a warmer because it was still heated when I tried it. She said that it is the most popular item on the dessert list, so they are constantly making them. I just lucked out!
Overall, we were extremely impressed with our entire visit. From the details in the décor, to the food, to the bandana wrapping around the food, to the environment, it was all amazing. If I could have, I would’ve gone back the next day. I enjoyed it that much. Before I left, I had to pay, of course. Don’t think that would be a normal payment. The “Andysized” pencil that I had to sign my receipt with sealed the deal. Before we left Disney, we made another reservation to come back.

Don’t miss out on this spectacular meal!

Photo Tour and Deck Plan: Disney Fantasy

The Disney Fantasy took its maiden voyage in 2012 and until 2022, was the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. It's the sister ship to the Disney Dream so you'll see many similarities between the two ships. The Disney Fantasy is an absolutely gorgeous ship, boasting an Art Nouveau style. The ship has 14 decks, 1,250 staterooms, is 1,115 feet in length and weighs 130,000 gross tons. We'll tour the ship starting from Deck 1 up to Deck 14, going from Aft to Forward. Let's start our photo tour! Deck 1 Deck 1 is where you'll find the Health Center. It's also where you can exit the ship to board a tender at Ports of Call that require ships to anchor offshore.  Deck 2 Deck 2 is where you'll find one of the three main dining rooms, Enchanted Garden.  The restaurant transforms throughout dinner, changing from day to night I love these booths! You can also find staterooms, a Midship Detective Agency kiosk and the Vista Gallery showcasing Disney artwork.  Deck

Universal's Volcano Bay Private Cabana Review

On a recent training in Universal Orlando Resort, agents Maci, Ashley, Aubrey and Yaritza and I rented a private cabana for the day at Universal's Volcano Bay. There are multiple locations around the park along with the option to have an upper or lower level, all of which reflect in various pricing. Agent Ashley received an email the day before informing her of where to check-in the next morning. While we were personally escorted to the cabana shortly after check in, the line at the check in location is the same as those getting towels, meaning it was not short. As expressed by an additional guest checking into a different cabana, we would have greatly appreciated a separate line, since this caused our group about a half hour wait. We're all adults and made great use of our time getting some fun pictures before the park was filled with guests, but this is important to be aware of if you are traveling with children.  We had an upper level Cabana which came with a splendid view!

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th
