The Benefits of Staying on Disney Property

As Disney vacation specialists, we get asked a lot of questions about Walt Disney World Resorts. The first question is almost always, “Is it worth it to stay on property?” to which I always respond, “Yes.  100% yes." We like to say you are "in the bubble" when you choose to stay on property, the magic is all around you and it is just easier  to get around and disconnect from the real world.  Here are a few specifics to highlight some of the biggest perks: Disney Magic — When you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort, the magic is literally at your fingertips.  It starts in the cavernous lobby of the Wilderness Lodge, in the headboard fireworks in the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside, on the 4th Floor Concourse at the Contemporary with the monorail whizzing by, or the second your toes feel the sand on the bottom of Stormalong Bay at the Yacht & Beach Club.  The magic is all around you; in the carpet, on the bedding, in the snacks, even in your shower products.

Wilderness Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort Review

In the heart of Walt Disney World, you'll find Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Although the resort is a quick 10-minute boat ride to the Magic Kingdom, you'll feel far removed from the bustling crowds while nestled on 750 acres of lush pine trees. The resort evokes the timeless beauty of the American frontier and is filled with scenic woodland trails, wildlife, and unique recreation.  Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort has two sections; the Campsites and the Cabins. If you're looking to connect with the great outdoors but still enjoy all the conveniences of home, a Wilderness Cabin might be the perfect choice for your next Walt Disney World vacation!  My family and I recently stayed in a Wilderness Cabin and we were really pleased with our experience. The cabins are filled with rustic charm and tons of wonderful wilderness touches. My favorites were some of the light fixtures in the bedroom and kitchen area.  Beary cute light fixtures above the kitche

A Guide to Meeting the Princesses at Walt Disney World

One of the best experiences at Walt Disney World is meeting your favorite characters and Disney royalty. Autographs from the Princesses are my daughter's most cherished souvenirs.  Here are the Princesses' Current Locations*: Pro Tip  – Princess Fairytale Hall and Ariel's Grotto offer Lightning Lane! If you are using Disney Genie+ during your visit to Magic Kingdom and the lines are long, utilize it for characters and Princesses. Snow White  – Epcot's World Showcase, in the Germany Pavilion, and at Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. You can meet her at Storybook Dining at Artist Point, Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Guests have met her at Town Square Theater in Magic Kingdom as well. Snow White at Storybook Dining at Artist Point Rapunzel  – Magic Kingdom's Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland. Jasmine  – Magic Kingdom in Adventureland where she appears with Aladdin near the Magic Carpet Ride, and occasionally at Akershus Royal Banquet

RCCL: Wines Around the World

On a ship as large as Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas, there is no shortage of things to do.  In fact, you likely won't be able to do it all in one trip!  One of our favorite ways to take a break from the hustle and bustle of some of the busier activities on the ship is to do a beverage tasting class.  We did Wines Around the World and had a great time!  This activity does come with a fee and should be scheduled in advance. The class was held in a small section of the main dining room, so it was really nice to get to see the area without the crowds of dinnertime.  The tables were set with wine glasses, information and snacks.  We had several agents and guests doing this experience together, and we were able to sit at one large table all together.  We were guided through the wine tasting and had a great time learning and tasting new varieties of wine!   Wine varieties can vary by ship and region, so you can repeat this experience on several cruises and get a different exp

Roundup Rodeo BBQ

Run like the wind, Bullseye, over to the newest restaurant in these parts, Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As you walk up to the entrance, you would think it’s been here the whole time. All of the outdoor theming with Woody, Jessie & all their friends just blend right into Toy Story Land that’s been here since 2018. The check-in podium is outside, just around the corner from the entrance to Toy Story Land, and there is a small waiting area under the marquee sign. You can check-in at the podium or through the My Disney Experience app. When you are called in to Andy’s Toybox to join all of the other “grown up toys,” you are amazed at all of the drawings and cut outs of Woody, Jessie, Stinky Pete, Bullseye & Bo Peep. Even some of Bonnie’s friends like Buttercup and Trixie made it into Andy’s place to play. You are greeted by Jessie & Trixie in the first room and Bo Peep and her Sheep in the second room. Remember that once you are in the restaurant, you are no

Mythos Restaurant at Universal's Islands of Adventure

Located on The Lost Continent of Universal's Islands of Adventure, Mythos is an award-winning, full-service restaurant that offers an otherworldly experience. If you've ever been to Universal's Islands of Adventure, you've undoubtedly walked by this restaurant with its towering rock formations, waterfalls and ancient figures carved into the side of the building. The restaurant has been calling to me for years and I was finally able to give it a try. When you enter the restaurant, it feels like you've entered a cavernous grotto from another world. There are oceanic and mythical touches throughout the indoor dining room and there's also outdoor seating with great views of the park. View from our table The menu features a mix of Mediterranean, Asian and American cuisine including Spanakopita Dip, Pad Thai and a Bacon Cheeseburger. There's also a kids menu for little ones and a dessert menu featuring Chocolate Banana Gooey Cake.  On our first visit to Mythos, we
