Why We Love Staying at the Disneyland Hotel

When it comes to experiencing the magic of Disneyland Resort, there's one hotel that holds a special place in my heart: the iconic Disneyland Hotel.

As the oldest hotel at the Disneyland Resort, this hotel offers a truly unique stay full of history that I believe every Disney fan should experience at least once!

The Disneyland Hotel isn't themed like some other Disney hotels with cartoon characters everywhere. Instead, its magic comes from celebrating the history of Disneyland Park itself. Each of its towers – Fantasy, Adventure, and Frontier – is filled with cool concept art and displays that tell the story of those classic lands. You'll find fun and unique touches everywhere, like the teacup chairs in the lobby. It’s truly special how it takes a standard hotel design and fills it with so much unique history.

One of the big reasons I love the Disneyland Hotel is its location. You're just a short, pleasant 10-minute walk through Downtown Disney to get to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. While there might be a few off-property hotels slightly closer, the convenience of being on Disney property and having that easy stroll through the lively Downtown Disney District is a huge plus.  In addition, the Disneyland Hotel is close to the monorail that will drop you off at Tomorrowland in Disneyland.

I have had the pleasure of staying in a few rooms here and they all share a wonderful simple Disney elegance with historical touches. My favorite detail? The famous firework headboards that light up with a touch .  It truly is magical.  While the bathrooms might be designed for smaller groups, the rooms are comfortable, charming, and filled with little Disney details that really make you smile. A family of 5 can fit in the standard room.  Plus, amenities like Keurig coffee machines make mornings a breeze.

The hotel grounds are fantastic, especially the pool area! You'll find the E-Ticket and D-Ticket Pools, complete with the famous monorail waterslides that are a huge hit with kids and adults. With the addition of the new DVC tower, there's even a new pool and splash pad to enjoy. It’s the perfect place to relax and cool off after a busy day in the parks.

The Disneyland Hotel offers some great dining and bar options right on site. For character dining, Goofy's Kitchen is a fun buffet experience with your favorite Disney pals. Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill offers quick, casual meals by the pool.  You must visit Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar. It's one of the most fun and uniquely themed bars you'll find anywhere – definitely a must-do!

While the Disneyland Hotel might come with a higher price tag than some other options, I believe it offers an unforgettable experience that's worth considering at least once. It's an amazing hotel that transports you in the original magic and history of Disneyland in a way no other hotel can. The great rooms, fantastic location, fun pools, and unique dining spots all combine to make it a destination in itself.

If you're looking for that special Disney touch and appreciate a rich history combined with modern comfort, the Disneyland Hotel is an excellent choice for your next magical vacation. We'd love to help you plan your stay and experience it for yourselves!
