Ale & Compass Restaurant and Lounge

Ale and Compass is located at Disney's Yacht Club Resort and serves up New England comfort food and seafood classics while making you feel like you are dining in a cozy lighthouse. Next door, you'll find the Ale and Compass Lounge which is even cozier with comfy chairs around small tables and a fireplace and serves up delicious cocktails to wet your appetite.  I started my evening in the Ale and Compass Lounge with a cocktail while I waited for my table to be ready.  I had used the "walk up" feature and was able to secure a late table for the evening.  The Big Apple, Buffalo Trace bourbon, crisp apple puree, and Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth It wasn't long before my phone informed me that my table was ready and I made my way over to the host stand.  I was dining solo this evening and the service was just lovely, not making me feel awkward or rushed, just welcomed to a wonderful meal.  I couldn't resist starting my meal with some Parker House Rolls from the app

Trattoria al Forno Dinner Review

Trattoria al Forno is an Italian restaurant on Disney's BoardWalk serving breakfast and dinner with an Italian flare.  For this meal, I chose to have dinner at this BoardWalk eatery. While it's of course easy for guests staying at Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Villas to dine here, it is also easily accessible via Epcot's International Gateway or Disney's Skyliner if you are looking for a change of pace one evening. While the restaurant is beautiful inside, it was a perfect Florida evening so I chose to dine outside on the BoardWalk and take in the evening, atmosphere, and the views. My server was friendly and approachable and helped guide me through my meal choices.  I chose to start my meal with a nice glass of wine and soon after bread service was brought out.   I then went with the seasonal salad which was quite sizable, fresh and delicious. Other appetizer choices include Italian favorites like calamari, minestrone soup and caprese salad.  For my main course, I wen

Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe

When you’re passing by the Norway Pavilion in Epcot please do yourself a favor and stop by the quaint Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe. Small and unassuming on the outside, but mighty on the inside, this cute cottage has become a popular spot amount Walt Disney World-goers. You may have heard of this place before due to its famous school bread, but Kringla Bakeri og Kafe has much more to offer than just that!  Normally, Kringla hosts a variety of Scandinavian goods, including pastries, pretzels, sandwiches, assorted desserts, and Nordic beverages. Since the reopening, Kringla is sporting a limited menu for now, but may be restored to its full glory in due time. Worry not, because this menu still has delicious crowd-favorites available! Here are some examples: School Bread. A delectable, custardy, coconutty bun. What’s not to love? I don’t need to go into too much detail about it, because frankly, it speaks for itself. If you somehow haven’t tried one yet, please do! Kringla . The bakery’s names

Review: The I Lava You Float and Fried Potstickers

Hey there, Disney Friends! Ready for a tasty snack review? This one is a two-for-one since both of the items are at the same location, the Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom. We've got a beverage for you, as well as a snack!  First up, who doesn't LOVE Pixar's animated short "Lava"? We adore it in this house and it's still one of my son's favorite songs to fall asleep to. Of course, we HAD to try the "I Lava You" Float ! This colorful float starts with strawberry Fanta soda and is topped with a generous portion of orange-flavored Dole Whip. The swirl is then topped with a drizzle of passion fruit syrup and red popping candy. The whole thing looks like molten lava, (and it's especially clever how Disney even manages to make it hot out so that the lava begins melting as soon as you get it! 😉).  And it's not just pretty folks, it's pretty tasty too! I wasn't sure how I would feel about it, since I am not wi
