24 Straight Hours in a Disney Park? Count me in!

Disney announced this year's event with the ultimate 140 character tweet! Recently, Disney announced a Rock Your Disney Side 24 Hour Event. From May 23rd to May 24th, 6:00 AM to 6:00AM, the Magic Kingdom in Orlando and Theme Parks of Disneyland Resort in California will host the heroes and villains of Disney for 24 spectacular hours. Guests are invited to dress up in child-friendly costumes and rock their Disney side at an event that promises "wicked fun for everyone." As my fellow Disney nerds may recall, last year’s 24-Hour all-nighter kicked off the Monstrous Summer at Disney Parks on May 24th. I am proud to say that I was there for that event. My husband and I hit the bus stop at Pop Century at 5:00AM sharp. Our goal was to get in 24 Hours of Disney, regardless of the park. The plan was to start at the Magic Kingdom and then hop over to Epcot to fill in the middle of the day, and return to the Magic Kingdom in the evening . 6 a.m. selfie! In my mind,

It is not yet clear if the paint job is the finished result, or if they are testing colors. The alternating color scheme appears on both East and West, and is currently over Mouse Gear and Club Cool. Kouzzina by Cat Cora will be closing permanently at the end of September. The final day of operation will be September 30 2014. Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade

I admit it- when I heard Walt Disney World was replacing the daytime parade at the Magic Kingdom, I was a bit timid. I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to Disney- I enjoy and look forward to the new experiences, but I hate to see old favorites go. The Dreams Come True parades all share a special place in my heart- I've gone from teenager to adult watching them, and had shared special memories watching them as a daughter, then cast member, then honeymooner, and most recently, a parent. But even I have to admit- under all the name changes (from "Share a Dream Come True", to "Disney Dreams Come True", to "Celebrate a Dream Come True"), it was still basically the same parade with a slightly different soundtrack. If Walt Disney ever taught us anything, it was to Keep Moving Forward. And move forward they did!  Soon, artist renderings of the new parade were released, and I started to get excited. Then, pictures of the floats and costumes cam

A Disney Homecoming

Military life can be hard.  Nobody knows that better than the children of a deployed serviceman.  And the longer the deployment is, or the more frequent they come, makes everything even harder.  Our family spent about half of the last three years with my husband deployed, with the last deployment being a year long.  By the end of it, we were all exhausted. During that year he was gone, we didn’t stop our lives.  We were involved in our homeschool group, traveled to gymnastics meets, and continued to be foster parents.  Thankfully, we lived in Florida, and we had purchased Annual Passes right before we found out my husband was deploying.  The kids and I ran away to Disney as often as we could so we could enjoy the magic.  By the time August came, though, we were done.  The end of the month seemed like it would never come.  We just wanted my husband home. Then he called.  He told me he would be getting home three weeks early.  We had already planned on taking the kids to Disney once

Good news for fans of  Frozen's  Anna and Elsa - both will be moving to the Magic Kingdom's Princess Fairytale Hall next month. Anna and Elsa are currently generating huge waits at Epcot's Norway Pavilion, with lines often reaching 4 or 5 hours, and causing significant congesting around the World Showcase promenade. The move to the Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland meet and greet location is expected to take place on  5/ 20 / 2014. Princess Fairytale Hall provides FastPass+, which will allow guests to make reservations in advance to meet the characters without the wait. Photo from WDWMagic The exterior patio at the Magic Kingdom's busiest quick service restaurant has now been fully enclosed with glass walls.   The old patio area at Cosmic  Ray's  is now fully integrated into the main restaurant dining room, which provides a lot of additional indoor air-conditioned seating capacity. The Tinker Bell meet and greet is set to move into the Magic Kingdom'
