Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater: One Out of this World Restaurant

Everyone has that one attraction, resort or restaurant that brings back fond memories of childhood vacations to Walt Disney World.  For me, the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater does just that.  I have such wonderful memories of this restaurant that it continues to be on my Must Eat list.  I promise that my feelings of nostalgia for this restaurant will only slightly influence my review. One of the most appealing attributes of the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is its theme.  The atmosphere in the restaurant is nothing short of amazing.  As soon as you are taken to your table, you are transported to another era; the 1950s.  Perhaps the neatest part of your table is that it isn’t just a table, it’s a car!  Take a step back in time to a 1950s Drive-In Movie Theater, complete with cars and concession stand.  Dine under the stars as you watch old Sci-Fi movie clips on the big screen. There is no doubt that the food at Sci-Fi takes a back seat to the theme but that’s not to say that you can’t have a g

Where in the World? Picture Trivia!

Below you will find snippets of 7 different photos that were all taken in the countries that make up World Showcase at Epcot.  To participate in our picture trivia for a chance to win a prize, send us an email to vacations@kingdomkonsultant.com  with the word "trivia" in the subject line.  List your guesses in the order the pictures are shown.  We don't need specific locations, just the name of the World Showcase country in which you think the photo was taken.  All answers must be submitted by 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 27th.  We will then put all of those with the most answers correct together and draw a winner at random.  The trivia winner will be announced on our blog and on our Facebook page on Thursday, March 28th.  Have fun and good luck!

Photo from Disney Parks Blog Disney was kind enough to share the logo for the 2013 Star Wars weekends as well as some of the celebrity appearances. This year’s logo has Mickey zipping away from scout troopers with Chip and Dale, on the Forest Moon of Endor. Mickey’s wild speeder bike ride on this year’s artwork has historical significance, as 2013 marks the 30th anniversary of “Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi” — the film that featured the Battle of Endor. Fan favorites (well some of my favorites at least), Ray Park (Darth Maul) and Warwick Davis (Wicket) will both be in attendance for not just one, but two Star Wars Weekends. Ray Park will be there on weekends one and two and Warwick Davis will be there on weeks two and three. The greatly anticipated new restroom area in Fantasyland is now open! This new restroom area replaces the former Fantasyland Skyway station; the area takes its theme from the movie Tangled, and brings a level of detail c

Agent Jessica's Disney Vacation Traditions

For guests of Walt Disney World, each trip brings something new and exciting.  Even for those who visit frequently, such as myself, every vacation offers a new experience.  And though we each enjoy new attractions and restaurants, we all have a few favorite traditions we uphold trip after trip. Each time my husband and I plan a trip to Walt Disney World, we figure out our must-do list and our try-it list. The try-it list tends to have new restaurants we want to try, a new resort and possibly a few different recreational experiences we haven't done yet.  Then we go over our must-do list.  This is made up of our favorite restaurants, favorite resorts and our absolute must have experiences we enjoy on our trips.  We compile the two lists and start planning away! The first day of our Walt Disney World vacations always consist of a very early wake-up call to catch the earliest flight to Orlando because we cannot waste a second of vacation time!  Regardless of weather, park hours and

If you have been following all the developments with MyMagic+, you will know that the MagicBand is a device that is worn around the wrist that will be your single point of interaction with all of Disney's systems, including theme park entrance, FASTPASS+, interactive attractions such as Test Track, room charging, PhotoPass, and hotel room entry. As Disney gets closer and closer to the full roll-out of the system we have some updated information from sources familiar with some of the more specific details of the MagicBand. MagicBand composition and sizing MagicBands are made of a hypoallergenic material, and have been specifically been designed to handle the extreme temperatures of Florida. They include ventilation, and are completely waterproof for use in water parks and in heavy rain. They come in a single size, but are sizable to fit any size guests. For smaller guests there is a removable layer which reduces the size even further. MagicBands are reusable, which means tha

The hugely popular 'Be Our Guest Restaurant’ in the Magic Kingdom's New Fantasyland is carrying out another round of FASTPASS+ testing during the next few days. Guests have been preselected from those staying at select resorts, and will be invited to try the FASTPASS+ reservation system for lunch. Selected guests are going to be given the chance to choose an arrival time for lunch online, and even choose items from the menu prior to their arrival. This will all be done on a website, similar to the new FASTPASS+ system that is already in testing with guests. Once the arrival time and menu items have been selected, the guest will arrive at the designated time, check in and pay at an express location, take the magic rose to the table of their choice, and the food will be delivered. A new set of “My Disney Experience” inspired guide maps will be coming to all Walt Disney World properties on 3/3/2013. The new and improved maps have a similar look to the electroni
