Top 10 Must Do's at Disneyland

Disneyland, known as the “Happiest Place on Earth” is the original park which Walt Disney opened for both children and adults. Originally, Walt Disney wanted to call the park “Mickey Mouse Park” or “Disneylandia” and later settled on Disneyland. Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955 with 18 rides and attractions including Autopia, Disneyland Railroad, Jungle Cruise, King Arthur Carrousel, Peter Pan and the Mad Tea Party. The five original lands that opened were Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and of course, Main Street USA.  Presently, Disneyland Park consists of nine themed “lands” and 52 attractions (including 49 rides). The nine themed lands are Main Street, USA, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Critter Country, New Orleans Square, Mickey’s Toontown and Galaxy’s Edge. Here are the top 10 things I love to do while visiting Disneyland. 10. Meet Characters Characters are roaming around the park, unlike Disney World. You can find them wa...

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD at Universal Studios Hollywood

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Entrance SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ at Universal Studios Hollywood is one of the most immersive, interactive and amazing lands that I've ever seen at a theme park. The land opened in February 2023 inviting guests to discover the world of Super Mario™ and step into familiar locations from the Mushroom Kingdom. SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ includes the attraction Mario Kart™: Bowser’s Challenge, Toadstool Cafe restaurant, and the 1-UP Factory™ store.  Upon first entering the land, I was experiencing sensory overload but in the absolute best way possible. I didn't know where to look first! The land is full of interactive elements, with so much movement, color and a ton of great photo opportunities. SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ is best experienced with an interactive Power-Up Band that you can use to collect digital coins and keys located through the land. Although you can still enjoy the area without a Power-Up Band, I highly recommend purchasing one to get the full experience....

Can a Disney Vacation Be Educational?

Travel is one of the most educational life experiences to give a child. A trip to Walt Disney World is no different. Disney Parks attractions are interesting, educational, and fun at the same time! There are valuable learning opportunities for your children in every subject area. For geography buffs, there are entire countries to explore. Get hands-on, in depth experience from around the world in Epcot’s World Showcase. Epcot offers cool "Kidcot" stops for extra learning fun! Children can try food and drinks from other countries, and even meet Cast Members from those actual countries who come to work at Disney. Your child will also see the different architecture and dress, hear languages and music, and taste foods of many different cultures.  For those who love history, especially American history, there is plenty to see! Walking through Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom is like going back to Colonial America. Take a ride on the Liberty Square Riverboat or enter the H...

Victor Bodden Tours: Zip & Dip

While cruises to new destinations are wonderful and exciting, ports of call and shore excursions can be a bit overwhelming with so many options to choose from! There are many highlights to see and do in Roatan, Honduras.  After reviewing the choices we found this excursion option through Victor Bodden Tours, Zip & Dip that would let us experience three activities in one!   When doing research on the location, zip lining through the jungles and animal sanctuaries on the island where you can cuddle up with a sloth seemed to be the highest recommendations.  This excursion started at a location that combined both of these amazing experiences, plus a stop at a beautiful beach to enjoy the crystal clear blue waters of the island!  We were picked up with our group outside the port area.  The meeting location was easy to find and we only waited a few minutes before we boarded our small van and headed off.   When we arrived, our group was checked in and eve...

Throwback Thursday: Satu'li Canteen - Forgotten Favorites

While Satu'li Canteen is one of my favorite Quick Service restaurants at Walt Disney World, the menu has changed in the short few years it has been open and some of my favorites have been removed.  I wanted to share a look back at some of the opening year menu items and reminisce together.   There were two main types of entrees on the menu here, the pods and the bowls, that much hasn't changed.  But some of the specifics of these items have.   First up, there used to be two different flavor of pods you could get - cheeseburger and vegetarian.  While Disney's cheeseburger flavored things have been a long-time fan favorite, those vegetarian pods were my personal favorite!  I wonder if they will ever make a comeback, I'd absolutely go back for them. Vegetable Steamed Curry Pods - Bao Buns - Steamed Vegetable Curry Pod with Eggplant, Cauliflower, Sweet Potato, Carrots, and Shallot Cilantro Cream served with Crunchy Vegetable Slaw and Vegetable Chips T...

Tutto Italia Ristorante Review

From Mexico to Canada, World Showcase at EPCOT is home to many wonderful restaurants. It can be difficult to choose a restaurant when there are so many great options! One pavilion that never disappoints with their restaurants is Italy.  On a recent visit to Walt Disney World, my family and I dined at Tutto Italia Ristorante. It had been awhile since we'd dined here so I was looking forward to revisiting this restaurant.  Located in the Italy pavilion, Tutto Italia brings Old World ambience and serves traditional Italian favorites. We were seated in the dining room but there's also an outdoor patio with seating. The dining room is filled with murals of ancient Rome, rich colors and sparkling chandeliers.  Tutto Italia dining room Our table was a half booth in the back corner of the restaurant and it was absolutely perfect because my youngest was fast asleep when we arrived at the restaurant. We were able to get him out of his stroller and place him on the booth without him...
