Aulani, a Disney Resort in  Ko'Olina, Hawai'i For those who have the opportunity to experience Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa in Hawaii, the dining options can be somewhat of a mystery until you arrive and experience them for yourself.  As I was pleased to discover, the food at Aulani is very delicious! For the incredible 10 days I was there I managed to try new foods and find new favorites.   There are two restaurants on-site that take advanced reservations, Ama Ama and Makahiki .   I suggest booking 6 months prior to travel to get your preferred dining times, especially for Ama Ama . Try to get a dining time during sunset for a gorgeous view. Ama Ama Restaurant SO many delicious desserts! Adding the Disney Dining Plan to your vacation package is a great way to pre-pay for your food, so that you don't have to worry about out of pocket costs while on vacation. Here are some secrets on how to best take advantage of your dining plan. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is one of my favorites! Babies and toddlers aren't covered. Children 0-2 years old can't get their own dining plan credits. At non-buffet meals, you have to order a separate children's meal which is not covered by the DDP, or share some of your food with them. Packing lunches and snacks helps supplement meals too. Dine outside the Parks for more variety. There are so many restaurants to choose from at WDW that each day and each vacation can be very different. There are even more dining selections available at the resorts and Disney Springs. 1900 Park Fare is a buffet style restaurant located in Walt Disney World's majestic Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  This resort is just a short monorail or boat ride from the Magic Kingdom which is located on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon.  As soon as you enter the Grand Floridian you are immediately swept away with the elegance of this beautiful resort.  Located on the first floor is 1900 Park Fare Restaurant with its charming display of carousel sculptures, crystal chandeliers and golden accents that adorn the two rooms used for dining.  Notice Big Bertha, a Late 1800’s Band Organ from France that sits 15 feet above the dining area.  Every so often throughout the meal she may play a little medley. Are you looking for a character dining experience that your little ones will enjoy, that includes more than just chicken nuggets?  The Hollywood and Vine Restaurant at Disney's Hollywood Studios is the place to start!  All three meals are served here each day, with breakfast and lunch featuring beloved characters from Disney Junior.  This is a 1940’s art-deco style café featuring favorite American dishes on a buffet.  I would recommend all three meals here; they never disappoint.  Disney Junior’s Play 'n Dine is the only place to eat with the characters from Disney Junior: Jake, Handy Manny, Sofia the First, and Doc McStuffins.  About every 30 minutes the characters will come out and provide an energetic and interactive show set to music. The kids will enjoy dancing with characters and doing a parade around the room.
