Yak and Yeti Review

Yak and Yeti Restaurant is located in Asia at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.  It is a bright blue house with two floors for dining during lunch and dinner.  The second floor has wonderful views of the streets below.  The owners have graciously opened their doors to welcome all travelers from around the world with a full service restaurant, bar and a quick service area next door as well. When you walk in it is hard to know where to look first.  There are decorations resembling ones' travels across many areas of Asia.  Featured are many unique statues, displays of armor, cabinets full of artifacts, specialty boxes elegantly displayed on beautiful tables, paintings and more. We started our meal with some of the delicious specialty cocktails they offer, Pink Himalayan: Tanqueray Gin, Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice, Passion Fruit and Lemon Grass Flavors, Salt Rim and the South Seas Traveler: Created by the Yak and Yeti Bartenders...Myer's Original Dark Rum and Ca...

Kilimanjaro Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom is a ride I simply never tire of. Why is that you ask?  Because it is a different experience every time you ride it! Depending on the day, time of day, and even the animal's moods, you will see, hear, and experience different things each time making every ride a unique and special experience. Let's take a photo tour of some of the animals you might get to see on your next safari ride.  Okapi - no relation to the zebra Hippos hanging out in the water Termite mounds, no animal is too small! Flame Tree Barbecue: BBQ with a View!

If you’ve been following our blog then you know that there are many restaurants at Walt Disney World that our agents adore.   So far we have been highlighting table-service locations, but today I want to share with you my favorite counter service location in all of Walt Disney World—Flame Tree Barbecue! Place your order here, then find a seat to the left. I’m a Southern gal, so naturally I love, love, LOVE some good BBQ!   Whenever anyone asks for advice on what counter service location to dine at, top of my list is always Flame Tree Barbecue.   As a matter of fact, on the last day of our honeymoon my husband and I made a quick jaunt to Animal Kingdom for the sole purpose of grabbing lunch at Flame Tree Barbecue and riding Expedition Everest one last time before the Magical Express picked us up.   It’s that yummy! Flame Tree Barbecue is in Discovery Island, just before the entrance to Dinoland.   Just f ollow your nose.   You can...

Photo Tour: Disney's Animal Kingdom with Social Distancing

Here at Kingdom Konsultants, we've gotten so many questions about how the Walt Disney World theme parks have been since they reopened with the new social distancing guidelines.  Today let's take a photo tour through Disney's Animal Kingdom and see what's different. Tree of Life, beautiful as ever! First up, the crowds: there was really no point in our day where we felt crowded in.  There was always lots of space in the walkways, and we didn't notice any big spikes in crowds throughout the day. Is it really an AK tour if there aren't animals?  The animals on the safari were enjoying a hot Florida day by napping and hanging in the shade.  No social distancing needed for them :)  Dividers have been installed on the Safari trucks This is our personal "every trip we get this photo" spot.  The only difference this year? I'm wearing a mask!  Normally there are lots of people hovering around the Dinosaur entrance either waiting for people to finish their r...
