"Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps" Review

I have been fascinated for years in Walt Disney, his early beginnings, the creation of the Disney company and how he came up with the concept of Disneyland and its various attractions.  When we were planning our trip to Disneyland and found out there was a tour that I could do that would give me some extra insight on all of that, called “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps”, I jumped on the chance to take it. I was told to arrive 30 minutes before my tour at the Guided Tour building next to Main Street’s City Hall.  I checked in and they gave me a cool, personalized pin to wear labeled “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps” and a menu to choose a meal that we would eat later.  I put my pin on my left shoulder, as instructed, and ordered a “Jolly Holiday “ salad, Flourless Chocolate Cake and a Coke.  A man named Phillip came out and gave each of us an earpiece to put on and told us to adjust the volume to make sure we would be able to hear him.  Then, around 10 minutes later, when ever

Ears the News with Richard

Beginning September 18 2014, the Magic Kingdom's Seven Dwarfs Mine Train now offers both video and photos of riders. Similar to the recent Tower of Terror onboard video, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train creates a series of video clips, including point-of-view footage, and scenes of the riders on the drops. MyMagic+ MagicBands are used to automatically associate the photos and videos to the rider's My Disney Experience account, making the whole process a seamless experience. The service is available now to guests who have purchased the Memory Maker package, and are wearing a MagicBand at the time of riding. The video is available online only at the My Disney Experience website, and cannot be viewed in the park. Photos are available online, and at the camera centers at the front of each park. 24 Straight Hours in a Disney Park? Count me in!

Disney announced this year's event with the ultimate 140 character tweet! Recently, Disney announced a Rock Your Disney Side 24 Hour Event. From May 23rd to May 24th, 6:00 AM to 6:00AM, the Magic Kingdom in Orlando and Theme Parks of Disneyland Resort in California will host the heroes and villains of Disney for 24 spectacular hours. Guests are invited to dress up in child-friendly costumes and rock their Disney side at an event that promises "wicked fun for everyone." As my fellow Disney nerds may recall, last year’s 24-Hour all-nighter kicked off the Monstrous Summer at Disney Parks on May 24th. I am proud to say that I was there for that event. My husband and I hit the bus stop at Pop Century at 5:00AM sharp. Our goal was to get in 24 Hours of Disney, regardless of the park. The plan was to start at the Magic Kingdom and then hop over to Epcot to fill in the middle of the day, and return to the Magic Kingdom in the evening . 6 a.m. selfie! In my mind,

6 Tips for Touring the Parks Successfully with an Infant

Many families find themselves in the position of bringing an infant to Disneyland or Walt Disney World; however, it can be challenging to manage this new family landscape.   Why do some families have more fun?   Preparation is the answer.  Here are a 5 tips to get you off on the right foot for visiting the parks with your smallest travel companions. 1.      Minimize the Diaper Bag :      Just as travelers over-pack, parents seem to carry everything but the kitchen sink in a diaper bag.   I promise – you will not need half a pack of diapers for a morning in the parks.  Resist the urge to overstuff or bring a huge diaper bag, if you get selected for security screening, the more stuff you have the longer it will take.    Only carry the average number of diapers and a small pack of wipes that you will need for the amount of time you will spend in the parks – you can always restock when you come back to the resort for a break.   If bottle feeding, p ack only the bottles you need and
