Guide to Disney Genie+ Service and Lightning Lane Entrances

We recently covered the basics of the complimentary Disney Genie service and answered some frequently asked questions so now let's dive into the Disney Genie+ service. How does the Disney Genie+ differ from the Disney Genie? Disney Genie+ takes your day at the Disney theme parks to the next level by allowing you to select the next available arrival window at select Lightning Lane attractions and entertainment options from park open to close. The other big difference is that the Disney Genie+ is an additional cost.  At the Disneyland Resort, the cost is $25 plus tax, per Guest, per day, when purchased in advance as an add-on with a new ticket or vacation package. Single-day purchases for Disney Genie+ through the Disneyland app will begin at $25 per day, and may vary by date, based on demand.  At the Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Genie+ will vary in price based on the date a guest is visiting, similar to theme park ticket prices. Although exact prices aren't known at this t

Gideon's Bakehouse

*Updated April 2023 Gideon's Bakehouse at Disney Springs has been incredibly popular since it opened, with waits of up to five hours on the weekends just to grab some of these delectable delights.  Of course, we had to see what all the hype was about for ourselves so we popped over to Disney Springs on a Monday morning around opening and hopped in line.  Waits are much shorter midweek and earlier in the day, with the virtual queue not even being in use yet, our wait was about an hour, but still regularly gets up to several hours on the weekends as the popularity has not waned.   I recommend stopping here first when you arrive to Disney Springs if it is on your agenda, that way if the line is longer you can hop in the virtual queue with your phone number and shop or eat around Disney Springs while you wait.  Even if you get the virtual queue, you still have to wait in the line outside for at least 15-30 minutes.  It was a sunny morning and there isn't much shade in line, so defi

You Must Be This Tall to Ride...Walt Disney World Edition

Tall enough to ride Slinky Dog Dash! There are certain milestones in a person's life that everyone looks forward to; when you're old enough to drive a car, when you graduate from high school or college and when you're tall enough to ride Space Mountain. I know I can't be the only person who counts being tall enough to ride Space Mountain as a major milestone!  Walt Disney World is a vacation destination the whole family will enjoy but there are some attractions that aren't meant for little ones. These attractions have specific height requirements for guests, meaning they must be the specified height in order to experience the attraction. If you're traveling with little ones, it's important to familiarize yourself with the ride height requirements so you know which attractions your little ones can and can't ride, based on their height.  Magic Kingdom 32 inches - Tomorrowland Speedway (54 inches if they want to drive alone)  35 inches - The Barnstormer 38

Chef Mickey's Family Style

Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort has been a long-time popular favorite for its proximity to the Magic Kingdom and the ability to see Mickey and Friends while dining.  However, it hadn't been one of my personal favorites because I felt the quality of food on the buffet had been lacking in recent years.  Since it reopened as a family-style meal and we were able to get a last minute reservation on our recent trip, we decided it was time to give it another chance.  Long story short, I'm so glad we gave this restaurant another try and I hope it stays family-style for a while because everything was really fantastic! Okay now let's get into the details.  We were able to secure a same-day reservation for two on a Thursday night earlier that day.  We had no park plans or anything so some character time and a chance to see the castle sounded like the perfect way to end our evening.  We met some friends for a drink at Dis

Review of 2021 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival - Part Three

Welcome back to another review of the 2021 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival food and beverage offerings! If you read my original review  or Maci's review in Part Two , you know that the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival kicked off on July 15th and ends on November 20th so there's still some time to squeeze in a last minute trip if you haven't made it to the Festival yet this year!  For those who haven't read my previous post or haven't visited the Festival before, each year the Festival includes Global Marketplaces where you can taste your way around the world, live entertainment and fun activities the whole family can enjoy.  On my August trip I was able to try a handful of Festival offerings and on my most recent trip we tried even more tasty treats (and enjoyed a few items again!) With that, let's get on with the review... Mac & Eats Location: Near Mission: SPACE The Mac & Eats booth is new to the Festival this year so we were v
