Disney's All-Star Movies Resort – Affordable Fun for Everyone

For families on a budget wanting to experience all the magic Disney has to offer, the All-Star Resorts are perfect!  The larger than life themes, bright colors, and familiar characters are sure to make your family smile.  The All-Star Movies Resort celebrates Disney films in five different areas.  Each area is themed around a beloved Disney movie: The Love Bug, 101 Dalmatians, Fantasia, The Mighty Ducks, and Toy Story

The resort is a Value Resort in the Animal Kingdom Resort area.  Transportation to all four parks, two water parks, and Downtown Disney is available by bus from in front of Cinema Hall.  Throughout the resort, there are wonderful places for photo ops with some of your favorite characters.  In The Love Bug section, Herbie the Love Bug is FIVE TIMES his normal size!  The Fantasia decorations stand three stories high.

All-Star Movies Resort has 1,920 rooms with either two double beds or one king sized bed, as well as a table and chairs, vanity area with a sink, and bathroom.  There are some handicap accessible rooms available, and pack and plays are available upon request.  Each room features a framed picture of the movie from the building it’s in,  as well as plenty of little touches, like a film border around the room and star-shaped lights over the double beds.  The rooms are comfortable and brightly colored.  They even include a mini fridge, which is perfect for all those Disney treats.

All-Star Movies has two pool areas: the Fantasia Pool and Duck Pond Pool.  The Fantasia Pool, modeled, of course, after Disney’s Fantasia, features a Sorcerer Mickey fountain.  There is also a splash area for younger children to enjoy.  At night, be sure to catch the movies under the stars by the pool!  The Duck Pond Pool, which resembles a hockey rink, is modeled after The Mighty Ducks movie.

Cinema Hall is where you will find all of the action in this resort.  This is home to the World Premiere Food Court, which is open from 6:00am until midnight.  There are five “marquees:" pizza and pasta,  the grill, traditional fare, house specialties, and of course, the bakery and ice cream station.  Breakfast is served until 11:00am and when you can get that Disney favorite, Mickey waffles!  My daughter, who has celiac disease, had no problem getting hers gluten free.  In fact, she said that everything she ate, from the gluten free pasta to the gluten free cupcakes made by Babycakes was superb.  In Cinema Hall, you will also find a 24 hour front desk, a gift shop, and an arcade.

My family loved staying at the All-Star Movies Resort.  It was our first time ever staying on Walt Disney World property, and we had a blast exploring the hotel.  We found the theming delightful and magical, the food delicious, and the pools were great!  Whether this is your first trip or 100th, the All-Star Movies Resort is sure to capture your heart.

FastPass+ Step by Step Guide

Over the years, Disney has been testing and implementing many changes around Walt Disney World.  Technology that was once thought to be available only to the Jetsons is now in place all around property, making the guest experience even more seamless and enjoyable than it was before. MyMagic+ is continually improving with the addition of new features. Image courtesy Disney Parks Blog Your entire vacation experience is now linked to waterproof, durable wrist bands called MagicBands. These have the same functions as the old Key to the World cards, and more. These will serve as your room key and park tickets, and store information for Memory Maker, dining plans, and FastPass+. FastPass+ enhances the previous FastPass system and takes it to a whole new level. Before, FastPass was a tool to help guests avoid standing in lines for certain attractions throughout the day, by issuing a paper pass with a return time equal to the amount of time you would have stood in line with the current
