10 Things Carnival Has Over Royal Caribbean

Both Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines are known for their exciting, family-friendly vacations, popularity, and affordability. I am a loyal Carnival passenger, but when Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay opened, I just had to check it out.  Carnival and Royal docked in Nassau Royal Caribbean is an amazing cruise line, with some of the best on-board sports activities and technology, but these are the differences that I only realized after cruising on both cruise lines last year. Carnival Sunrise in Brooklyn We sailed on a 4-Night Bahamian cruise on Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas in February 2020 (right before the shutdown). It departed from Port Canaveral with two stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay, and one stop in Nassau. RC's Navigator and Mariner of the Seas 10 reasons Carnival wins me over: 1. The Staterooms:  On the Mariner, I had a standard inside stateroom. There was a mirror on every wall, including behind the bed. The décor looked outdated with dar

Tortola Island Drive and Beach Break

On our recent Disney Cruise, we were excited to visit Tortola for the first time. We were looking for an excursion that would give us a tour of the island, provide some time for relaxation and would be something our 3 year old son would enjoy. After reviewing the Port Adventure options on the Disney Cruise Line website, we chose the Island Drive and Beach Break. After disembarking the ship, we boarded our open-air safari bus for a scenic drive around Tortola through Road Town before we ascended Ridge Road up to Sky World. Make sure to sit on the left side of the bus for the best views of your Disney ship when you're driving up Ridge Road. Unfortunately for me, I ended up on the right side of the vehicle so I struggled to grab a good picture of the ship from the top of the island. I was still able to enjoy the stunning views but I just couldn't get a perfectly composed photo. While we drove around the island, our driver gave us some history on everything that we were seeing

Treat Yourself to a Cabana at Serenity Bay on Disney's Castaway Cay

When I think of cruising, I think of warm weather, white sand beaches, and turquoise waters so it’s no surprise that the Bahamian and Caribbean itineraries on Disney Cruise Line are some of my favorite offerings. One of the best things about those itineraries are that they include a stop at Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay. The island is the ideal spot for a day filled with relaxation and fun! If you are looking to add even more relaxation and luxury to your visit to Castaway Cay, consider renting a cabana for the day at Serenity Bay! Serenity Bay is the island’s adult only beach and it is the ultimate relaxation paradise. A cabana rental is the perfect way to pamper yourself even more on your cruise! My husband and I were lucky enough to rent a Serenity Bay cabana with some friends on a recent cruise and it was truly amazing. The night before we arrived at Castaway Cay, we received information in our stateroom about how to check-in to our cabana. We wer
