Universal Mardi Gras 2023

Universal Orlando Resort has so much to offer at all times of year, but from around February to April each year, the Universal Studios Florida park gets a little more pizazz as they add in Mardi Gras celebrations, all included with the price of your regular admission!  It includes international inspired food booths, a parade complete with beads, and concerts by some of your favorite artists on select nights.  Join us as we go beyond the Bayou for Universal's Mardi Gras, featuring NOLA favorites and the best of Carnaval celebrations around the world.

The 2023 event is International Flavors of Mardi Gras and runs from February 4th to April 16th, 2023.  Due to a special event on March 31st, the parade will not be offered.

The parade is always a great time, full of energy, beautiful floats and beads to catch while you watch. The parade this year will feature some favorite floats from the past and also introduce six brand new floats. But did you know, you can even ride on the floats yourself?  New for 2023, there is a brand new Mardi Gras Float Ride and Dine option!

Includes:

  • Reserved spot for you and yours on one of the spectacular parade floats. Unique chance to guarantee a spot in the parade where you can wave to the crowds as you toss out beads!
  • Enjoy a 3-course meal selecting from the full menu at one of the four participating restaurants at Universal Orlando Resort.
  • Available for select dates Feb.4-Apr.16
  • Mardi Gras Float Riders must be 18+ or accompanied by a legal guardian 18 or older. All riders must be at least 48" in height to board the floats and must be able to stand for the duration of the parade.
  • Separate theme park admission is required
  • Prices start at $69.00 and purchase must be made at least 24 hours prior to event date
  • If you are interested in adding this to your vacation, contact your Kingdom Konsultant Agent today as we anticipate spots will fill up fast!

Each year the concert lineup is eagerly awaited and I'm happy to say there are quite a few I'm excited about this year.  A big weekend kicks off early in the event with JVKE performing Friday, February 10th,  and The Goo Goo Dolls on Saturday February 11th.  I'm personally looking forward to 3 Doors Down on Saturday, February 25th.  Other artists announced include Patti LaBelle, Willow, and Sean Paul.

Finally, there are numerous tasting booths throughout Universal Studios Florida to get a variety of bites throughout the day.  But the flavors don't stop there, Citywalk and Universal Resort restaurants and bars add specialty menu items to enjoy outside the parks as well.  Try some Bourbon Street Bengiets over at the Hard Rock Hotel or King Cake Pancakes at Loew's Royal Pacific. Of if you are more into something savory, Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort will offer Shrimp Po' Boys.

One of my favorite bites from past events was from the Brazil booth, and I can't wait to try even more this year!

Stuffed Coxinha – crispy pulled-chicken teardrop fritters from Brazil

5 Ways To Get Psyched For Your Disney Trip!

Hey-Howdy-Hey, Disney Guys and Gals!      Is anyone familiar with Barney Stinson's "Get Psyched" Mix? Anyone? How I Met your Mother Fans? Ok, great! So you totally get where I'm going with this! If you have no idea what I am talking about, you can watch a clip  HERE!  Basically, the theory is that no matter what's going on in your life, you can get yourself psyched up and ready for something awesome to happen, all by listening to the right piece of music. Playing off of that theory, I feel that one of the very best things about a Disney trip is actually  preparing  for it, or getting psyched! You can have a whole bunch of crappy stuff happening in your life at the time, but if you have a Disney trip on the horizon... even if it's 564 days away, you have something to look forward to and enjoy preparing yourself for. In fact, many Disney fans, (myself included), pretty much get from one day to the next by preparing for upcoming trips. You may even book a ne

Planning Hack - 4 Best Times to Visit Walt Disney World

One of the biggest questions I get as a Disney travel planner is "what time of year should we visit Walt Disney World?" I give clients my suggestion on the four best times to visit Walt Disney World, and I've visited during each of these times. I've also visited outside of these dates and I've concluded that these times of the year have more benefits than other times. If you're going to spend the money, time and effort to plan the perfect vacation, it's worth it to go during one of these times. 1. Late January - If you don't like the Florida heat, this is the perfect time to go. Also, the Epcot International Festival of the Arts is happening during this time. The temps can  be unpredictable so make sure you pack a variety of clothing options and layers. Swimming is hit-or-miss in January. Crowd levels and resort room prices are low to moderate.  The Epcot International Festival of the Arts 2. Early May - It's hot, but the summer heat hasn't

Why you should stay at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort - Especially with a Big Family!

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort transports you to an island paradise! The atmosphere at the resort truly makes you feel like you're in the Caribbean.  The brand new under the sea rooms and the Disney Skyliner are just a few reasons why it's an excellent place to stay for families.  1. Accommodates a family of 6 Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is a very popular moderate level Disney Resort near Disney's Hollywood Studios. As a family of 6, we can stay here, even though it's advertised as having rooms that fit up to 5 guests. This works when one of the guests is age 2 and under. Most rooms have 2 queen beds. There are some rooms called a 5th sleeper room which also have a single bunk. This Murphy style bunk is perfect for most kids under 12, or about 5 feet tall. My kids love to have their own special bed. The infant or toddler can have a Pack 'N Play or a crib in the room as well. You can comfortably fit 4 adults, one child (under 12) and one infant in the 5t
