Mears Connect Shuttle Service from MCO to WDW

Guests looking for ground transportation to Disney World don't have to look far. Mears, the same company that used to operate Disney's Magical Express, introduced their new service, Mears Connect. Although the service may have a new name and price, Mears offers the same safe and reliable service guests have been using for years. In fact, if you use Mears Connect on your next vacation, it may look very familiar.  Mears offers two service options; Standard and Express. The Standard service is a shared shuttle service with monitored wait times and limited stops at at other Disney Resort Hotels, much like Disney's Magical Express service. If you're looking for more direct service, you can book the Express which provides limited wait time on a direct, shared service to your Resort. This isn't a private service so you may share your vehicle with other guests but you'll be guaranteed to be the first stop. Once you arrive in Orlando, you'll collect your luggage from...

You Must Be This Tall to Ride...Disneyland Resort Edition

As a kid, there is nothing more exciting than finally being tall enough to ride the rollercoasters at Disneyland! It's a right of passage to finally be tall enough to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, and the Matterhorn Bobsleds.  Walt Disney designed Disneyland as a place for the whole family to have fun together but that doesn't mean that there aren't a few attractions that are meant for older (or taller) guests. Some attractions have specific height requirements for guests, meaning they must be at least the minimum height listed or they may not ride the attraction.  If you're traveling with little ones, it's important to familiarize yourself with the ride height requirements so you know which attractions everyone can and can't ride, based on their height.  Disneyland Park 32 inches - Autopia (52 inches to ride alone) 35 inches - Gadget's Go Coaster 38 inches - Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run 40 inches - Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 40 ...

Universal's Volcano Bay Basics

If you have driven on I-4 between downtown Orlando and the various theme parks in Central Orlando you have probably been intrigued by the giant volcano that is visible near the Universal theme parks.   This curiosity is the centerpiece of Universal Orlando Resort's third park:  Universal's  Volcano Bay. Volcano Bay joined Universal Orlando Resort in May 2017.   It is a 27 acre water theme park, and probably my favorite part of our most recent vacation.   There is something for everyone to enjoy here, whether your goal is to find adventure or total relaxation.   Starting Your Volcano Bay Experience While you can purchase single-day tickets to Volcano Bay, the best bang for your buck is to bundle it with the other theme parks in a 3-Park Ticket.   Guests staying at one of the on-site resorts have an advantage for Volcano Bay:   Early Park Admission!   You can enter the park 1 hour earlier than offsite guests, which means you have more choic...

When should I visit Walt Disney World?

Planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be a large and daunting task. There are so many decisions to make- where to stay, where to eat, how much time to devote to each park, and  more. Before you can dive in to any of these details, the first step is deciding when to visit. We have many first time guests ask us when is the best time to experience Walt Disney World. While we all have personal favorites, there is no "one size fits all" answer to this question. The truth is, any time is a great time to take a Disney trip- but there are a lot of factors to take into consideration when trying to plan the perfect vacation. CROWDS One thing to consider when choosing your travel dates is the crowd level. If you would prefer to visit during a time with low crowds (meaning minimal waits at attractions), then your best bet is to stay away from holidays and school breaks. Broadly speaking, Disney World has seen lower crowds during certain weeks in September and May. The parks wil...

What is the Best Age to take Children on a Disney Vacation?

We all know that Disney parks are for "the young and young at heart".   Walt Disney's vision was to create a place where both adults and children could enjoy spending time together.  But is there such a thing as "too young"?  Many parents wonder how long they should wait until their children are the perfect age for their first Disney trip.  I'm going to let you in on a little secret- there is no magic number!  The perfect age for kids is whatever age they are right now.  From babies to teenagers, children of all ages can enjoy the magic. One common argument against taking little ones: " They won't remember it anyway. " While this may be true, the parents, siblings, and anyone else who comes along definitely will- and the memories they make will be priceless!  As you read this, moms in Disney Parks around the globe are tearing up at the excitement and joy on their babe's face as they meet Mickey Mouse.   Not to mention the o...
