Bengal Barbecue at Disneyland

Today I want to share one of my favorite dining locations in any of the Disney parks: Bengal Barbecue. Bengal Barbecue is located in Disneyland, just across from the entrance to Indiana Jones and the Forbidden Temple in Adventureland.  I have had this dining spot on my Disney “bucket list” for quite a while, and I was a little worried it wouldn’t live up to the hype.  Luckily, it still managed to exceed my expectations! In fact, after dining here with my family last summer it was one of the few dining locations I insisted on repeating on my most recent trip with my fellow Kingdom Konsultant Agents. I’m pleased to say that my high praises for Bengal Barbecue were echoed by the agents dining with me this time. L to R: Agents Aubrey, Yaritza, Natalie, Ashley, Elisa, and Jill The main draw to Bengal Barbecue is their assorted grilled skewers, called “Jungle Skewers” on their menu, but they also serve a trio of hummus, a Tiger Tail Breadstick, pineapple spears, and dill pickles. Backlot Express Review

On a recent trip to Disney's Hollywood Studios, I found myself at Backlot Express for lunch. I was with my brother, who is a bit of a picky eater, and Backlot Express hit the spot for us with chicken tenders and fries. Backlot Express  Backlot Express is located just past the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! show, on the way to Star Tours. It's kind of tucked away, but not at all hard to find. There is indoor seating, outdoor seating and outdoor covered seating that was warm but manageable on the day we visited. We went right at noon so it was crowded but we were lucky to find a seat inside, right by the drink fountain. The line on this particular day was stretched out the door and winding through the seating area, so I thought mobile ordering might be a good idea. It turns out I was right! After placing the order, which was very easy, our food was ready in less than 5 minutes--definitely the way to go! Mobile Order Pick-up Covered outdoor seating As I said, we

Amorette’s Patisserie Fall Petit Cakes Review

Tucked back near World of Disney, in Disney Springs is the gem that is Amorette’s Patisserie. I love a treat that is as delicious as it is beautiful, and more often than not, I find that to be the case here. While one can order a sandwich or beverage, the star of Amorette’s is their delightful display of pastries. In addition to the year round variety of choices including precious mini Mickey cakes, Amorette’s offers seasonal petit cakes. Today I will be reviewing three of those options, all available in the fall of 2022. The first is the Encanto Petit Cake, which is part of Disney’s Together we are Magia offerings. The pictures simply can’t do the sparkle on this bright and delightful cake justice. They really add to the festive colors of this cake. The ribbon on the bottom is not edible, but everything else seemed to be. Let’s dig in! The cake flavors are “vanilla chiffon, mango mousse, raspberry mousse, and white chocolate crisp pearls.” The Mousse layers are clearly defined, my

Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy Hollow Refreshments at Magic Kingdom has become a fan favorite over the years, often having sizable lines for this small spot.  Tucked away in Liberty Square with gorgeous side views of Cinderella Castle, it is easy to miss but a treat to find.  Sleepy Hollow's menu consists of waffles, corn dogs and funnel cakes, although people typically come here for the waffles.  In the morning you can score a fruit and Nutella waffle for breakfast and later in the day you can get a spicy chicken and waffle sandwich. Because they are so busy, everything is fresh and tasty!  You can even peek the Cast Member's deep frying the goodies behind the cashier when you order.  The chicken and waffle "sandwich" is a personal favorite of mine, it's just such a nice change of pace from burgers and chicken fingers.  At time of writing it is $11.29 and a pretty filling option for the price.  On the menu it is described as "Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken-Waffle Sandwich: Broccoli Slaw w

Artist Palette at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort

Sometimes you just want a quick, easy but delicious meal, and the quick service Artist Palette at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort certainly delivers! After a long travel day, we did Mobile Order to pick up a quick variety of food for our family to snack on as we got settled into our room.  Everything was fresh and tasty.  The kids couldn't wait to dig in.   Disney isn't exactly known for great pizza, so we were pleasantly surprised by both of these offerings.  They were gobbled up quickly, we probably could have eaten another one they were so good.   Margherita Pizza: Tomato Sauce, Roma Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella, Basil, Roasted Garlic Oil Pepperoni Pizza I wanted to try an actual entrée as well, so I went for the braised meatballs because it sounded so good and comforting after a long day.  Again, I was surprised at how good this was.  We were honestly not expecting much being it close to closing time when we arrived, but everything was hot and fresh and full of flavor.  Br

ABC Commissary

I'll be honest, ABC Commissary at Disney's Hollywood Studios was one of my least favorite counter service restaurants in the parks, but in recent years, they have revamped their menu and I'd heard good things so we decided to give it another try.  Spoiler alert: I loved our meal!  We'd been eating a lot this trip so we opted to split a salad to keep things light - and I'm so glad we did, it was huge!  Their salad option is a Mediterranean Salad with Chicken, which is Marinated Chicken served over Mixed Greens with Tomatoes, Cucumber, Pepperoncini, Kalamata Olives, and Feta tossed in a Mediterranean Vinaigrette served with Hummus and Grilled Flatbread.  This joins the menu of shrimp or pork tacos and a variety of sandwiches.  This plate was just filled with an abundance of goodness.  I loved the generous scoop of hummus to go with the pita and the chicken was nice and juicy with enough cheese to get some in every bite.   Because it's the 50th Anniversary, there w

Pongu Pongu at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Pongu Pongu is a Quick Service drink stand located in Pandora - The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Although Pongu Pongu is primarily a drink stand, the location is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves snacks, as well as beverages, that are out of this world.  If you aren't sure where to find Pongu Pongu, just look for the AMP suit (aka the giant robot looking thing) and you're there! There isn't any seating available at this drink stand so you can take your drinks/snacks to-go as you explore Pandora or you can grab a seat at the outdoor seating area next door at Satu'li Canteen. Note that the seating area for Satu'li Canteen is reserved for guests dining at that restaurant but you are more than welcome to sit there before the restaurant opens with your items from Pongu Pongu. AMP Suit in front of Pongu Pongu For breakfast, Pongu Pongu serves a Sausage, Egg and Cheese Biscuit, French Toast Sticks, and a Pongu Lumpia. On our rece

Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe

When you’re passing by the Norway Pavilion in Epcot please do yourself a favor and stop by the quaint Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe. Small and unassuming on the outside, but mighty on the inside, this cute cottage has become a popular spot amount Walt Disney World-goers. You may have heard of this place before due to its famous school bread, but Kringla Bakeri og Kafe has much more to offer than just that!  Normally, Kringla hosts a variety of Scandinavian goods, including pastries, pretzels, sandwiches, assorted desserts, and Nordic beverages. Since the reopening, Kringla is sporting a limited menu for now, but may be restored to its full glory in due time. Worry not, because this menu still has delicious crowd-favorites available! Here are some examples: School Bread. A delectable, custardy, coconutty bun. What’s not to love? I don’t need to go into too much detail about it, because frankly, it speaks for itself. If you somehow haven’t tried one yet, please do! Kringla . The bakery’s names

Flame Tree Barbecue: BBQ with a View!

If you’ve been following our blog then you know that there are many restaurants at Walt Disney World that our agents adore.   So far we have been highlighting table-service locations, but today I want to share with you my favorite counter service location in all of Walt Disney World—Flame Tree Barbecue! Place your order here, then find a seat to the left. I’m a Southern gal, so naturally I love, love, LOVE some good BBQ!   Whenever anyone asks for advice on what counter service location to dine at, top of my list is always Flame Tree Barbecue.   As a matter of fact, on the last day of our honeymoon my husband and I made a quick jaunt to Animal Kingdom for the sole purpose of grabbing lunch at Flame Tree Barbecue and riding Expedition Everest one last time before the Magical Express picked us up.   It’s that yummy! Flame Tree Barbecue is in Discovery Island, just before the entrance to Dinoland.   Just f ollow your nose.   You can smell the savory, smoked meats from afar.   This
