Whispering Canyon Cafe

Can I get some ketchup please???   If you read that question and laughed because you know what I’m referring to, then you have probably eaten at Whispering Canyon Café.   If not, by the end of this post I can guarantee that you will want to eat there! Whispering Canyon is located inside the beautiful Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disney World.   The restaurant is located right off the main lobby which makes it easy to find as well as providing for beautiful sights to see while waiting for your table.  The restaurant serves a Western/BBQ style menu like you may have found in an old Chuckwagon on the prairie.   They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and do accept the Disney Dining Plan.   A few of the food highlights include the Family Platter; served at all 3 meals, it brings you either loads of classic breakfast items or great tasting BBQ and sides, all served family style for your table.   In addition, this restaurant has some of the best milkshakes that I have ever

Guest post- A Magical Experience: Family of the Day

Kingdom Konsultant client Mandie and her family recently experienced some extra Pixie Dust at the Magic Kingdom- they were randomly selected as family of the day! Today, she shares with us her exciting experience, along with her appreciation for the magic that Cast Members help to create every day:      The number one thing I learned on my recent trip to Disney World is not what restaurant to book (O’hana), what snack is the best (Dole Whips, baby!) or what ride to avoid with a toddler if you want them to trust you for the rest of your trip (I’m looking straight at you, It's Tough to be a Bug).   It’s something that is far easier to remember, needs no reservations 180 days out, and requires only one word: “Hi”.                  Ok, I’ll be honest.   It doesn’t have to be “Hi” because “Hello”, “Hey There”, and if you’re feeling verbose, “How are you?” will also work.    You’re probably asking where this advice is leading so I’ll get to straight to the point.   The most ma

The Magic Kingdom's new third bus has opened to guests.  The new loop brings additional capacity, support the new extra long articulated busses, and moves park-to-park busses from the TTC charter lot right to the front of the Magic Kingdom.  The new loop features double sized load zones, allowing stops for 1 articulated bus, or 2 regular busses. These large zones have been allocated to Port Orleans Riverside, All Star Sports, All Star Movies, All Star Music, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, Art of Animation and the TTC. The direct service from the Magic Kingdom to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom will not open until December 15 2013, and until then will continue to operate from the TTC. Following on from the late October test at Disney's Hollywood Studios, MagicBands will now be required across all parks for entry into Extra Magic Hours. Beginning on 11/17/2013, MagicBands will be scanned by a cast member outside of the park entrance to determine EMH eligibility. Once cleared for EMH, guests will be directed to the entrance to enter the park as normal with their MagicBand. Those guests using RFID Key to the World cards can use those in place of the MagicBand. Guests staying at the Swan and Dolphin, Shades of Green, or any of the EMH eligible hotels on Plaza Blvd can continue to enter using their hotel ID cards. The Comedy Warehouse is once again returning to Disney's Hollywood Studios for the busy holiday season. Look for shows to begin around 12/21/2013 through until 1/5/2014.  Epcot is currently restricting FastPass+ selections to groups, meaning it is not currently possible to select all of the major attractions in one day.  Disney's Ho

Cozumel Highlights and Mayan Ruins

Do you enjoy learning about ancient cultures and visiting exotic beaches?   How about drinking tequila?   If so, the Cozumel Highlights and Mayan Ruins excursion with the Disney Cruise Line may be right up your alley! Ruins at San Gervasio The excursion begins with a 10-minute walk from the ship to an air-conditioned motor coach.   This short walk to the motor coach is also the first glimpse of the vendors in Cozumel, as you have to walk through a shopping center to get there.   The first stop on the tour is the San Gervasio Ruins, which is about a 35-minute drive inland.   I was very excited for this part of the excursion because I am fascinated by ruins of any kind and find the Mayan culture especially fascinating.   Very large iguana Our tour guide David led us through the excavated ruins and told us the history of San Gervasio and the Mayan people who lived there.   David was a very funny tour guide and kept us entertained with his story telling abilities.   After a
