Sailing with Special Needs - A Guest Review of the Disney Magic

Our client, Diana Lee and her family had an amazing experience recently aboard the Disney Magic cruise ship. She was kind enough to share her experiences and advice for our readers: Summer comes, and everyone hits the shore; Outer Banks, Myrtle Beach, or Virginia Beach. Come winter, kids go snow tubing down the big hills in the neighborhood, and wonderful ski trips are planned. But for our family, it's different. My daughter is ventilator dependent, cannot sit up, and is pushed around in a wheelchair weighed down by various life-saving medical equipment. A Vacation of a lifetime aboard the Disney Magic! What does this mean? It means that my bright-minded, but physically disabled, child cannot do anything that normal kids do, despite her ever whirling mind. Wherever we go, we don’t fit or are in the way, and feel like an intrusion. Ears t he News is brought to you from our friends at wdwmagic.com  Disney has launched a new premium tour experience at Disney's Animal Kingdom, taking advantage of the new late hours at the park.  The private safari vehicle takes you into the Harambe Wildlife Reserve using the new after-dark operation of Kilimanjaro Safaris.  Tour groups are limited to just 12 guests, and like the daytime Wild Africa Trek, the 2 hour safari includes a stop at the private viewing area, and also includes food and drink.  The menu includes African-inspired tapas, paired with an all-inclusive selection of regional beer and wine offerings.  Also included is a complimentary photo services with digital download, along with a commemorative keepsake.  Tours are offered daily beginning June 26 at 4:30 PM, 5:30 PM, 6:30 OM and 7:30 PM.  The cost is $169 + tax, with a minimum age of 8. Ears the News: Memorial Day 2016

Memorial Day 2016 Edition Disney Vacation Club has announced the name of its new development at the Wilderness Lodge resort.  Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is the name of what will become the 14th Disney Vacation Club Resort.  As part of the new naming, the original Disney Vacation Club property at Wilderness Lodge, the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, will be renamed Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Also announced was that a new name will be coming to the redesigned Hidden Springs Pool area. The Pangani Forest Exploration Trail at Disney's Animal Kingdom will soon be returning to its original name - Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail .  The exhibit was renamed Pangani back in July 1998, to better represent the fact that the trail was not just home to gorillas.  Eighteen years later, Disney has decided to go back to the original, and from Memorial Day Weekend, it will once again be known as Gorilla Falls
