A Taste of the United Kingdom Without Crossing the Pond

Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room is the table service restaurant located in the United Kingdom Pavilion of the World Showcase at Epcot. From the outside, it looks like a small pub since there is a bar located in the front of the building. To the side are gardens with views of the water but hidden behind both is a fantastic restaurant greatly overlooked. There is a small indoor dining area but the majority of the seating is outside overlooking the lagoon and World Showcase. There is an upper and lower eating area, both covered. Not known to many is that the Rose & Crown was one of the few table service restaurants at World Showcase where you could see the evening fireworks show while dining. Make your dining reservation for 7:30 pm or later and you can enjoy it from the comfort of your table. But keep in mind that you must request an outdoor table when you check in at the podium. (Fireworks are currently suspended at this time.)  The menu offers samplings from all over

Photo Tour: Universal's Islands of Adventure with Social Distancing

Have you been wondering what it's like to visit the theme parks since the reopening of Universal's Islands of Adventure? Today we'll take you on a photo tour through the park to see what's changed. You'll notice one of the first changes to park touring before you even enter the theme park. We arrived at the Port of Entry turnstiles about 20 minutes before park opening and we saw social distancing in full effect. Universal Team Members were there to remind guests to remain socially distant and to help direct the flow of traffic as the lines grew. We were very pleased to see that the majority of guests were doing their best to adhere to the new guidelines and were also wearing their masks properly. Guests socially distancing in line to enter the park Another big change: Park maps are unavailable and guests are encouraged to download the Official Universal Orlando Resort App You'll find one of the three U-Rest locations at the Port of Entry Landing. Bring a Little Disney Magic to Your Holiday Season

The holiday season is one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World.   The weather is usually cooler and there are fewer crowds earlier in the season, but more importantly, the resorts and parks are decked out in their finest Christmas decorations.   I don’t always get the chance to visit the parks to see the decorations but I have managed to bring a little bit of that Disney Christmas magic to my own home every year.  Here are a few ways you can bring the Disney magic home this holiday season! Decorate Your Tree with Disney Ornaments As a kid, my favorite ornaments on our tree were always the Disney ones so it is only logical that as an adult with my own Christmas tree to decorate, that I would have a tree entirely dedicated to Disney ornaments!   On each trip to Walt Disney World, I pick up a few new ornaments to add to my tree.  They are wonderful souvenirs and it’s a great way to remember our different trips!   I also frequent  shopDisney.com each season for special de

Chef Mickey's: It's Not Just About the Food!

Have you ever left your favorite restaurant and thought, “Wow that was fun!” No? Of course not! Who gets excited about going to a restaurant, just to eat and leave? How would you like to hop on a monorail and arrive in the middle of the hotel that houses one of my favorite restaurants on Disney property? Chef Mickey’s isn’t just about the food. It is an experience in and of itself. When thinking about Disney meals, I personally love the counter service meals. Something quick, simple and yummy will suffice for my family.   This changed a couple years back when I planned a large family get-together in Walt Disney World.   We knew we wanted to hit a character meal as this would be our son Bubba’s first time to “The World”.     I immediately thought “Chef Mickey’s sounds fun!”, so   I made an ADR (Advanced Dining Reservation) right away.    Little did I know at the time, it would become a must-do!
