Review of 2021 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival kicked off on July 15th and is now in full swing! Each year the Festival includes Global Marketplaces where you can taste your way around the world, live entertainment and fun activities the whole family can enjoy. For avid collectors, there's also limited-edition event merchandise available for purchase. If you haven't visited the Festival yet, no worries! The Festival runs until November 20th so there is still time to visit. We explored the Festival offerings a couple weeks ago and I'm ready to share our review with all of you. It was a short trip so unfortunately we didn't get to try all of the food and beverage options but we were able to try a handful of offerings to whet our appetites. I'm looking forward to revisiting the Festival in October to try even more tasty treats! Shimmering Sips hosted by CORKCICLE® Location: Near Port of Entry If you're coming from Future World, you'll find the Shimmering Sips

Universal's Volcano Bay Basics

If you have driven on I-4 between downtown Orlando and the various theme parks in Central Orlando you have probably been intrigued by the giant volcano that is visible near the Universal theme parks.   This curiosity is the centerpiece of Universal Orlando Resort's third park:  Universal's  Volcano Bay. Volcano Bay joined Universal Orlando Resort in May 2017.   It is a 27 acre water theme park, and probably my favorite part of our most recent vacation.   There is something for everyone to enjoy here, whether your goal is to find adventure or total relaxation.   Starting Your Volcano Bay Experience While you can purchase single-day tickets to Volcano Bay, the best bang for your buck is to bundle it with the other theme parks in a 3-Park Ticket.   Guests staying at one of the on-site resorts have an advantage for Volcano Bay:   Early Park Admission!   You can enter the park 1 hour earlier than offsite guests, which means you have more choice for seating and you can hop on the

Universal Orlando Resort: More Than Just Thrills!

I have discovered over the years that many people think Universal Orlando Resort theme parks are just for guests who love thrill rides.   While it is true these parks have some amazing thrill rides (I’m looking at you, Velocicoaster!), there are plenty of rides to please anyone in your party that prefer more tame attractions. Recently I took my own family down to experience everything Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure have to offer.   My son is just venturing into the world of roller coasters, but still has some growing to do.   My daughter is still a bit cautious when it comes to rides.   They both declared that they LOVE Universal Orlando Resort and can’t wait to return!   In no particular order, here are our favorite non-coaster rides that are sure to please everyone in your group.  Despicable Me Minion Mayhem :   In this awesome simulator ride you get turned into a minion! Margo, Edith, and Agnes oversee your minion training, but things get a little out of ha

RCCL Independence of the Seas: Day 4

Day 4 of this trip means our last full day on vacation!  We had another sea day today as we cruised back to Galveston from Cozumel yesterday.  Unfortunately, the weather wasn't quite as nice today, with overcast skies and some rain drizzles, but nothing too bad at all and plenty of indoor activities for us to enjoy! We once again started our day with breakfast in the Windjammer, preferring it to breakfast in the Main Dining Room.  I enjoyed a nice variety of food, especially enjoying the avocado toast and yogurt parfait.  After breakfast, we headed up to the Sports Deck once again, learning that the door was just really hard to open so it likely wasn't actually closed the first time we had tried earlier in the trip.  This area was definitely not popular this early in the morning, with everything empty as could be.  The Sports Deck includes the rock climbing wall, basketball court, Perfect Storm waterslides, the Flow Rider and the Sky Pad.  While I really wanted to try the Sky P
