Top 10 Must-Do's at Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood opened in 1964 with one attraction, the now World-Famous Studio Tour. Today, the theme park has 10 out-of-this-world themed lands across the Upper and Lower lots, plus Universal CityWalk, an entertainment, dining and shopping destination to explore. The themed lands include Minion Land, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hollywood, Jurassic World, Production Plaza, Springfield, Studio Tour Plaza, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Transformers Metrobase and WaterWorld.  If you've been to Universal Orlando Resort, you may think the attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood are a carbon-copy of their Orlando counterparts but you'd be wrong. Universal Studios Hollywood offers some familiar attractions to Orlando, but they aren't identical. There are also themed lands and attractions that are unique to Hollywood and are absolutely worth a visit to the west coast to experience!  Here's my list of the top ten Must Do's at Universal Studios Hollywood. 10.

Blue Bayou Restaurant Review

While at Disneyland, several Kingdom Konsultant Agents wanted to try the famous Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland Park. Blue Bayou is located in New Orleans Square, INSIDE Pirates of the Caribbean, in fact! When you start your journey on Pirates, as you sail through the quiet bayou, the restaurant is part of the ambience. It’s a beautiful space, always night time, with lanterns and moss hanging from the ceiling. Prime seating is by the water but we didn’t request those accommodations as we were just happy to be inside the famed Blue Bayou!   Alcoholic beverages are served at Blue Bayou, but we stuck to soft drinks for this meal. Agent Ashley did order the signature (non-alcoholic) Mint Julep, with a souvenir glow cube, and she said it was delicious. Assuming it was a one and done, we were pleasantly surprised when our server came around with a pitcher offering her a refill on her Mint Julep, so keep that in mind if you order one at $5.75 ($9.25 if you want the glow cube). Mint Julep

Keeping Cool in the Parks

We all know that Florida is known for its sunshine. During the warmer months, it is a good idea to take a break from the heat throughout the day. Luckily, there are plenty of interesting ways throughout the parks for you to keep cool for a few minutes. Here are some specific attractions to look for to take a break from the heat in each of the four theme parks.  When you are at the Magic Kingdom  there are several great shows to enjoy for a break from the heat and a break for your feet! You can visit Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room or the Carousel of Progress and enjoy Disney classic entertainment.  For a 3D show with all your favorite characters, drop by Mickey’s PhilharMagic. Are you more of a jokester? Maybe the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor is right up your alley; you may become the center of attention! If shows aren't what you're after, the classic ride, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, includes a brilliant feature: much of your waiting will be done at an indoor playgrou

Roatan Brews and Island Views Excursion Review

Enjoy drinking beer in a tropical setting? Well do I have the perfect excursion for you! Roatan Brews and Island Views offers guests a chance to tour a local brewery and partake in a tasting flight, all in the captivating scenery of Honduras. Built on a 60 acre parcel of land in the Palmetto Valley of Roatan, the Roatan Island Brewing Company offers in-depth tours of how they create their tropical ales.  We booked this excursion through Royal Caribbean Cruise Line on our recent Western Caribbean cruise itinerary. It should be fairly obvious since this excursion is a brewery tour but it's worth mentioning that the excursion requires a minimum 21 years of age for all guests hoping to participate. The excursion was advertised as mild activity level with minimal amounts of walking and standing. They recommended we wear comfortable walking shoes but I'm happy to report that the activity level was less than mild. The excursion length was 3 hours and 15 minutes, which I thought was a

Why You'll Love Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs

Planet Hollywood is located in Disney Springs, and you can't miss it - it looks like an observatory with it's huge domed roof. If you're looking for a memorable and lively restaurant, check this place out! Movie lovers and TV show buffs will love seeing all the authentic Hollywood props. There are so many dining choices at Disney Springs, but if you have kids or teens, I suggest Planet Hollywood! High School Musical Props - Go Wildcats! Reasons why you will love dining here: 1. There wasn't a wait time. We were a few minutes early for our reservation, and they sat us right away. We were having a good time before we even got to the table. A Frozen song was blasting, the bass was pumping, and we got to browse some props from famous movies on our way up the stairs such as Dorothy's dress from The Wizard of Oz .  2. The props, memorabilia, and artifacts from our favorite movies and shows were all around us, and our table had pieces from Pirates of the Caribbean inside

Lamplight Lounge Review

The Kingdom Konsultant agents took on Lamplight Lounge at Disney California Adventure Park and loved it!  It has such a fun atmosphere with so many neat nods to Pixar. We found ourselves finding all kinds of “Easter Eggs” throughout our meal. Lamplight Lounge is located in the Pixar Pier area of Disney California Adventure. It is two stories, with awesome views of the water, Pixar Pal-A-Round and Incredicoaster. We sat downstairs on the deck, and got to enjoy this incredible view:  We really enjoyed the relaxed, casual atmosphere. Our server was great and easily handled the large group with multiple checks and various requests. We ordered appetizers and entrees and shared everything because we all wanted to try so many things! We couldn’t pass up one of Lamplight Lounge’s signature appetizers, the Lobster Nachos. In fact, I think we had several orders! At $23, these were a crowd pleaser and easily shared. A small takeaway from the Lobster Nachos: I got the chipotle crema on the side of
