Throwback Thursday: Satu'li Canteen - Forgotten Favorites

While Satu'li Canteen is one of my favorite Quick Service restaurants at Walt Disney World, the menu has changed in the short few years it has been open and some of my favorites have been removed.  I wanted to share a look back at some of the opening year menu items and reminisce together.   There were two main types of entrees on the menu here, the pods and the bowls, that much hasn't changed.  But some of the specifics of these items have.   First up, there used to be two different flavor of pods you could get - cheeseburger and vegetarian.  While Disney's cheeseburger flavored things have been a long-time fan favorite, those vegetarian pods were my personal favorite!  I wonder if they will ever make a comeback, I'd absolutely go back for them. Tutto Italia Ristorante Review

From Mexico to Canada, World Showcase at EPCOT is home to many wonderful restaurants. It can be difficult to choose a restaurant when there are so many great options! One pavilion that never disappoints with their restaurants is Italy.  On a recent visit to Walt Disney World, my family and I dined at Tutto Italia Ristorante. It had been awhile since we'd dined here so I was looking forward to revisiting this restaurant.  Located in the Italy pavilion, Tutto Italia brings Old World ambience and serves traditional Italian favorites. We were seated in the dining room but there's also an outdoor patio with seating. The dining room is filled with murals of ancient Rome, rich colors and sparkling chandeliers.  Tutto Italia dining room Our table was a half booth in the back corner of the restaurant and it was absolutely perfect because my youngest was fast asleep when we arrived at the restaurant. We were able to get him out of his stroller and place him on the booth without him wakin

Six Ways to Beat the Heat at Walt Disney World

Florida summers can be brutally hot and humid, but with school schedules offering summers off, it's still a popular time for a Walt Disney World vacation.  And if you aren't tied to a school schedule, the heat and humidity can last into the fall as well. So here are some tips and tricks to keep cool and make the most of your Disney vacation each summer. 1. Get Up Early and Stay Out Late This is probably the best advice for beating the mid-day crowds any time of year, but it serves more than one purpose during the summer months.  The first few hours are crucial for low crowds and relatively low heat and humidity.  For lowest wait times, plan to be at the park gates about 30 minutes before the opening time for resort guests.  Then, once the sun goes down enjoy the parks in the evening for another break from that Florida sun. 2. Take Advantage of Your Resort  When the sun starts to get really hot and the lines get long, return to the resort to cool down, take a nap or go for a swi

Disney Cruise Tips for a First-Timer

I knew our first Disney Cruise would be awesome, but didn't expect to be so completely impressed with every aspect of the cruise. From the magnificent cuisine, to the Broadway-style shows, to the amazing customer service, Disney is truly unbeatable when it comes to family cruising. There are many, many cruise planning sites, blogs, and tips out there to sift through, (which I did my due diligence reading in preparation for my own trip) including the wonderful articles here on the Kingdom Konsultant Blog. But, actually experiencing it, taught me so much more. Here are the things I wish I knew, but didn't on my first Disney Cruise: Arrival Day Advice If you want to pay with Disney Gift Cards or Disney Visa Rewards, first thing you should do onboard is go to guest services to put them on file for charges if you didn't already add your credit card to your stateroom when you completed your online check-in. Oh! and make sure you know your pin #!   Traveling with small chi

Disney Fairytale Wedding Experience

Have you always dreamed about being a Disney Prince or Princess for the day?  Well, Disney makes that possible through Disney's Fairytale Weddings where you can plan a wedding or vow renewal with that little extra magic that only Disney can provide.   After getting engaged in Epcot, we always knew a Disney Fairytale Wedding was for us.  We started narrowing down options of where and when shortly after getting engaged, and reached out to Disney a little over a year before our preferred date, as they only start booking 12 months in advance.  As locations are very popular, we had to let them know our top three choices of locations or dates and times.  The date was important to us, so we had backup locations instead of backup dates.  There were three other couples that wanted our date and location, so we were entered into a lottery, and as luck would have it, we won our first choice!  View our guests had for Epcot's fireworks I spent the next six months or so booking external vendo
