Citricos Lounge

Citricos has long been a staple at Disney's Grand Floridan Resort and Spa but it recently underwent a rather lengthy refurbishment which had it keeping the Citricos name but introduced touches of Mary Poppins Returns throughout the restaurant and gave everything a little refresh.  The restaurant remains a Signature Dining experience and is open for dinner service.  We of course had to check out the changes but didn't want to be tied to a reservation time so opted to try for the lounge instead which is walk-up, first come, first serve seating.  There are three small tables with cozy chairs and couches and a small bar area.   The details are beautiful from when you first walk in, the choices of fabrics on the chairs to the intricate lighting.  There is so much to see and take in.  We were lucky enough that there was an open table when we arrived so we had no wait and sat right down.  There are also lovely windows here for views of the Grand Floridan grounds.  This is a lounge so

Narcoossee’s – A Forgotten Favorite

Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort I’ve been vacationing at Walt Disney World since I was four years old.   Throughout the years, I have eaten at countless restaurants across the parks and resorts.   I have my fair share of favorites that I always make sure to visit on each trip but some restaurants just don’t make the cut on each and every trip.   Sadly, Narcoossee’s was one of those restaurants. I had been to Narcoossee’s once as a child and I remember enjoying the view and the food but I didn’t have a lot of memories of the place.   On a trip in 2009 with my parents, we decided to revisit the restaurant and we all enjoyed our meal but for some reason it just didn’t stand out to me.   Thankfully, we decided to go back to Narcoossee’s in 2012 and it was one of our favorite meals of the trip!   A forgotten favorite had returned as a front-runner for my favorite restaurant and this time, I wasn’t going to forget it! I've visited Narcoossee's on almost all t

2019 Grand Floridian Chocolate Egg Display!

Happy Spring, Disney Fans!      Hope you're finding some rays of sunshine and the first peeks of buds and flowers out your windows. Spring is in full bloom here in Orlando, (just ask my allergies!), and my kids and I hit up one of our favorite springtime displays, The Grand Floridian Chocolate Egg Display ! Every year, the pastry chefs go nuts hand carving giant chocolate eggs into edible displays of Disney art. They are pretty amazing and the popularity of them grows annually. In fact, this year there are even eggs on display in other resorts too, like The Contemporary and The Yacht and Beach Club. Now, I haven't gotten the chance to check out any of the other displays yet, but I do have pictures to share of the eggs from The Grand, so let's check 'em out! ~~~~ Lilo and Stitch Front Lilo and Stitch Back Three Caballeros Front Three Caballeros Back Humpty Dumpty Front Humpty Dumpty Back Up Front Up Back Mary
