Disney’s Live Entertainment - AKA - Confessions of a Disney Groupie

As anyone who knows me can tell you, I am into music.   It started when I was in grade school.   My Dad was into music, so I received a great appreciation for all types from Big Band on up to present day.   Off Kilter Disney has a lot of great music in the attractions, the parades, and other big events.   It surrounds you at the resorts and theme parks, setting the mood and theme for where you are.   Something that many people overlook or don’t even know about is the Live Entertainment available at each park and in some of the resorts.   These are great attractions in and of themselves, but unlike a regular attraction, it isn’t in a building or on a map and sometimes the locations change depending on what else is going on.     Make sure you grab a times guide as you enter the park as this will have most of the entertainment listed along with the locations and show times for the day.   If you don’t see a particular act, check with Guest Services in that park, and they will be a

Rock 'n' Rollercoaster starring Aerosmith...Kid friendly?

In the weeks leading up to our surprise vacation, my son was always bringing up Disney World and what he would be allowed to ride the next time we went.   I always told him "everything" because we wouldn't be going until our other little one was 3.   He said, "Next time we go , I will definitely get on Rock 'n' Roller coaster!"   Needless to say, he had no clue it would be just a couple weeks away, and I didn't know if I should hold him to it.    I always hated when my parents forced me to get on rides that I wasn't comfortable with as a kid, so I felt like I couldn't force him if he backed out at the last minute. A couple of days into our trip, we arrived at Hollywood Studios, and he knew it was decision time to go on Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster or not.   As the kids and I waited for my husband and my mother-in-law to get off of Tower of Terror, he started asking me questions.   I tried reassuring him that he would have fun,

It’s Growing on Me - Epcot's Behind the Seeds Tour!

Have you ever been on the Living with the Land Boat Tour in the Land Pavilion in EPCOT, and wondered who those people are walking in the greenhouses?   I was always curious about that as well, so one year I decided to find out for myself.   The Behind the Seeds tour in Epcot’s Land Pavilion is one of those little gems that tends to get passed up in the mad dash to get to a ride.   It is also a reasonably priced little gem.   The cost is under $20 and will only take about an hour of your time. I can say that it is definitely worth the time to slow down and smell the sunflowers.   Getting to walk behind the scenes is a unique experience and waving at the people in the boats that are on the Living with the Land ride is lots of fun too! The Land Pavilion in Epcot Every year I would take my nephew for our annual trip to Walt Disney World and our goal would be to do something different besides the rides.   When looking over the various tour options, he decided on this one.   So

Star Wars Weekends: The 411

So you want to know what Star Wars weekends is all about?   I have been a regular at Star Wars Weekends since 2003 and over that time I have learned a few things about what you need to do to get the most out of your time. Most people that are new to Star Wars Weekends want to know the same things. “How busy is it?”, “How do things work?”, “What is there to do?”, and “How can I make the most of my time?” How busy is a really simple question to answer. It is very busy, from a certain point of view. The Star Wars activities will be incredibly busy. The rest of the park tends to be fairly mild. If I had to choose the best day crowd wise, Friday would be the best choice. Disney has really refined and perfected how things work at Star Wars Weekends since they started in 1997.   The list of what to do and how to do it is extensive, but it breaks down into four basic categories. Via Napoli

For many, myself included, one of the allures of visiting Epcot’s World Showcase is being able to taste the native food of the countries represented.   With so many amazing and unique choices it may come as a surprise that one of my favorite meals in all of Walt Disney World is pizza!   I know what you’re thinking—pizza is nothing special, just a fast and easy meal for those busy nights when you don’t have time to cook.   But at Via Napoli is an experience in itself, and it is one you shouldn’t miss! Quattro Formaggi Pizza with Strawberry Acqua Fresca Via Napoli is one of the newer dining establishments at Epcot and can be found in the back of the Italy pavilion.   This pizzeria ristorante opened in the late summer of 2010 and I was fortunate enough to visit that same year during the first weekend of October.   I was traveling with my husband, his brother, mom, and aunt.   We’re a pretty tough crowd to please; 3 of us have worked in restaurants and my husband and his broth

Visit the French Quarter of New Orleans and Disney World at the Same Time!

I had the opportunity to tour Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter during an Agent Education Program, and the moment I saw the resort, I said “This is the next resort where I want to stay.” When planning a last minute trip to Walt Disney World for October 2011 there was no discussion of what resort we were staying at. As the official vacation planner of the family, I decided we would be staying at Port Orleans-French Quarter and the topic was not up for discussion. Themed after the French Quarter Section of New Orleans, the resort makes you feel like you are staying there rather than a resort in Florida. As you enter the main entrance you are greeted by a cast member decked out in Mardi Gras attire handing out beads or doubloon “coins” to be tossed into the fountain in the lobby. The lobby area itself is not large and everything is very easy to find. The food court and the lounge (Scat Cat’s Club) are on one side with registration, the arcade and Jackson Squar
