Toledo Review - A Tale of Two Tapas

I have dined at Toledo twice. Shortly after Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs opened in 2019, I ate there with my mom, and most recently with my fellow agent Maci during our visit for Magic Kingdom’s 50th Anniversary. Located on the 16th floor, the atmosphere at this dinner only restaurant is just lovely. Floor to ceiling windows with tasteful décor offer lots of light. You will get a view of all the parks, but some are certainly better than others depending on which area of the restaurant you dine in. Even if you aren’t facing the windows, the ambiance of the orange and pink stain glass on the ceiling and greenery from the trees in the restaurant are a welcome sight. Toledo is self described as serving Tapas, Steak, and Seafood. I ended up only ordering tapas and drinks both times I dined here. On my first visit, my mom and I weren’t too hungry and on my most recent visit, they were unable to serve us the special 50th Anniversary dish because it was technically the day

2021 Holiday Cookie Stroll at Epcot

Do you love the holidays? How about cookies? If you answered "yes" then the Holiday Cookie Stroll at this year's Epcot International Festival of the Holidays is the perfect activity for you!  After our fun with Emile's Fromage Montage during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival earlier this year, I knew we had to participate in the Holiday Cookie Stroll. Participation in the Holiday Cookie Stroll is super easy. All you have to do is purchase five sweet cookies from select locations during the Festival and make sure to collect your matching stamp for each cookie you purchase. You'll know which menu items are part of the Holiday Cookie Stroll by looking for the cookie icon located next to each item in the Festival Passport and on the menu board outside the booth.  Let's review the 5 cookies: 1.  Black and White Cookie - L'Chaim! Holiday Kitchen - Between France and Morocco This was the first cookie we tried on the Holiday Cookie Stroll and it did

Frontera Cocina at Disney Springs

Frontera Cocina is one of the many restaurants you will find with a celebrity chef at Disney Springs, this one is brought to you by seven-time James Beard award winner, Rick Bayless.  The warm colors and open atmosphere is very welcoming for a contemporary Mexican dining experience.  Reservations are highly suggested and can be made via My Disney Experience or the Open Table app and the restaurant is typically open for lunch and dinner from 11am to 11pm daily.   We had lunch here on a Monday afternoon and the restaurant wasn't too terribly busy at all, which was a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the weekend. We settled in at a table in the middle of the restaurant and got ready for the meal ahead.  While somehow I missed a photo, we did start our meal with $5 margaritas which is definitely a great deal while on Disney property!  This was a "Margarita Monday" special and we would highly recommend it!  We also opted for some chips and salsa and some queso. Now,

Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs

Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs is one of my go-to spots for a great meal.  The restaurant itself is beautiful and I've had so many great meals there over the years. Chef Morimoto is a relatively well-known chef after appearing on Iron Chef America as one of the original Iron Chefs, so when he opened a restaurant at Disney Springs I was so excited to give it a try being a fan of the show and of Chef Morimoto.  This restaurant brings his masterful Asian cuisine to Florida in his first "Pan-Asian" concept.  With 20-foot chandeliers and glass walls giving a peek into the kitchen and a sushi bar upstairs, there is something to catch everyone's eye here. In October, they had specialty spooky cocktails on the menu that we just couldn't resist trying! One was pumpkin and lychee based and the other was grapefruit and rose and they were both good but the black magic was definitely our favorite.  Twisted Pumpkin: absolut elyx, pumpkin spiced liqueur, lychee, liqueur, house

WDW 50th Anniversary Foodie Guide - Part 2

In Part 1 of our Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Foodie Guide, Agent Maci kicked off our series to review the new sips and bites you can find around the Walt Disney World Resort for the World's Most Magical Celebration. The celebration continues for the next 18 months so you'll have plenty of time to try these new tasty treats. We did our best to chip away at the extensive list of celebration food and drinks on our trip over the 50th Anniversary kick-off weekend so we could report back to you. It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it! ABC Commissary (Disney's Hollywood Studios) Caramel Apple Tart - Spiced Caramel Cheesecake Mousse Apple served atop a Cinnamon-Apple Tart The Caramel Apple Tart dessert at the ABC Commissary was absolutely delicious! I'm a fan of cheesecake and any apple desserts so I was very happy that this dessert didn't disappoint. The cheesecake is rich but it's a decent size so you can easily share it with a few people.
